IMO, if banks were stupid@ss enough to loan money to people without the proper paperwork then they deserve to go down. I know here in NC you have to have proper documentation to get any kind of loan, car, house, etc. ITIN numbers don't even work for that because they don't come up as legit socials. I don't understand how illegals are getting the blame for this. Seems to me the stupid@ss bankers should be getting blamed. Of course, it's so much easier to put it off on illegals because they are the cause of everything $hitty in the world.

I don't think illegal inmigration is just to blame...alot of Americans took 1 even 2 mortages on their houses just to furnish it, drive around in an S Klasse M-B and spend it on holiday trips. Alot of people are to blame here....

And the worst part about it is that many of the predatory lenders were "de la raza" and ellos jodieren bien a los de mas de su raza. The number of illegal aliens getting loans is fairly low. The number of low-income Hispanics getting crappy loans due to ignorance, mis-placed trust in someone of their own race, poor English skills is fairly high in my neighborhood.

It angers and saddens me to see hard working people getting pimped on loans by unscrupulous characters.

It's a similar situation to gang infested neighborhoods. In general on who do the gangs prey? those of their own race/ ethnic group.
