we are planning for a february wedding too because it is the only time my mom can get off work and i'm not sure how we are going to make it! i have a lot of stuff to organise here before i leave though, is he ready to go?

in packet 3 there will be a checklist and it will ask what date you intend to travel. put something early and hope for the best. just bare in mind that i put january 2nd as my travel date and my interview is 15th december, they don't give you a lot of time!

Rocks - i didnt state anything specific, just March 2009, (which is true)

in that case the interview is probably going to be after christmas. i put january 2nd as my date and returned the packet two days after you. my interview is 15th december, although most people are getting interviews in january now. i can only assume that because i put that date my interview is earlier. if you sent the packet using special delivery it probably got there fine and you just have to wait it out. i hope you hear something soon. :)

Thanks Rocks.

Well damn I so should have done that haha

I hate waiting games....

He had better be ready lol. I just returned back to the states on the 1st and he is missing me already so he says he will be ready for whatever date they give him. Right now I am trying to get the cosponsor stuff done and having some problems with it but I am going to stay positive and keep my faith that it will all work out. When in Feb. are you planning and where are you moving to?

I put that I planned to travel on December 21st and get married on Jan 10th if I could have an interview in time... So they gave me an interview for Dec 16th but didn't give me enough notice of it!! Hehe! So anyway, I'm travelling sometime around Jan 12th (when Luke has booked tickets) and getting married Jan 31st :-) Woohoo! To those who haven't sent in Packet 3, definitely put a date if you want an interview sooner...

We put a travel date of Aug 31 and wedding date of Sept 18 - doesn't always help, depends on each particular case. Wish that it did! But I get the feeling it is a ####### shoot - they are set by the date rec'd from the NVC - not nec the wedding date.

that is what the congressional aide told me anyhow.

You will most probably get approved pending documentation (provided that everything else is in order and the CO is satisfied).

I have heard of others that did not have police certificates on the day of interview for some reason or other, they were approved pending police clearance certificate.

Good luck!

Hi Ali

With respect, you have already asked this question and it's created a thread with 71 answers as of a couple of minutes ago! The people replying have given you fantastic advice about your options, taking into account that you answered that you had all your documentation when you returned your checklist and horrid word though it is, that is effectively a lie.

Have you tried calling to reschedule your appointment or do you have a scanned copy? The advice given was take the scan if you haven't got the hard copy but don't turn up without something! And pay whatever it costs to have it fedexed....

It's a bitter fact, but the likelihood is that you will be more scrutinized as a Pakistani citizen than a British citizen would. Irrespective of your country of residence...

Good luck :)
