There seems to be lots of packets sent back and no interview dates yet?!!?!? I wonder why.

Yes, WHYYYYYYY???? Most people seem to get their interview date within 3 weeks of sending their forms back to London but no sign of mine yet... Boooooooo. Not happy with London. :-(

Luke calls every Monday. Not much else we can do. If I call London, it will cost me £1.20/min and I'm pretty sure I won't get any kind of a resonable answer... I'm pretty frustrated because our petition already got held up for 6 weeks after NOA2 before it got to NVC, whilst most others went through in a week. Was hoping to have my interview before Christmas but that put pay to that, and now it looks like we're gonna get delayed AGAIN for no reason. Grrrrr.... Sorry to vent!

And does anyone know what happens when my NOA2 validity runs out? It expires on January 11th. Will the Embassy automatically extend it or do I have to fill out yet more forms?

ugh a 6 week delay, that sucks! i'm sorry to hear that. i was hoping to be there by christmas but i'm the same as you, i'm not confident that i will get my interview before christmas and i definitely won't be able to travel before then. don't worry about venting, i know sometimes it feels good to get it off your chest. i hope we both hear something soon. :)

if they are processing the case i think they just automatically extend it for another 4 months.

Hey, it is frustrating, but hang in there. I know.

There is always some reason - we just don't know why.....

You are allowed to vent!

Look on the bright side - if you leave after Christmas the flight will be £300 cheaper! The way I look at it is like this... I have done most of the year on my own, I'm damn sure I can manage one day. Plus, next year I won't be with my family in the UK so I'm going to make the most of it.

And does anyone know what happens when my NOA2 validity runs out? It expires on January 11th. Will the Embassy automatically extend it or do I have to fill out yet more forms?

It automatically gets extended.

i'm wondering if thanksgiving and the prospect of getting a day off meant that people were working slower?

if we don't hear something by the end of next week we will be contacting a senator to find out what the hold up is...

That's exactly what I was planning - end of the week, then I get senator/email London embassy... Let's hope we hear this week.

Hi guys i dont know if this of interest to you but the previous message about email just jogged my memory. when i was on the phone to the embassy people asking questions i told him i had replied to their email they sent me with a question they didnt answer properly beofre and had not got a reply. he told me they change the code for emails that makes them read it weekly to avoid spamming and gave me the one for that week. and hey presto i got a reply finaly within a couple of days or was it four i cant remember. but anyway my lesson for the day is their special email code is changed weekly and just replying or using the code again in the wrong week will prob result in never getting a reply like it did to me. just thought i would let you know.

still waiting for news but its not even been a week yet. i think i will phone on monday and ask for conformation that they did get it and check their current estmated times,

It DOES help to get the congressman/senators office involved - after I contacted them I received the email reply from the consulate within 24 hours.

(I had the appropriate code for the week.) On our end they claimed to have never rec'd the RFE we sent in August. Not only did we resubmit it by registered post - the aide sent it through his "congressional channels". I then sent an email with the new code they gave me (by the way space between the the first three letters and and last threenumbers) requesting whether we would receive a receipt for said document or if the post confirmation was it. Also asked for a "possible timeline to interview". They are taking 10 - 12 business days to reply and should change their auto reply to say so! I am keeping the Senators Aide in the loop from this point forward!

The nitwits at the DOS kept telling me the Consulate had everything they needed- just be patient.

Make those calls! Presidential election is over - Thanksgiving Holiday is over - anything over 60 days from submission of packet 3 is TOO LONG. This from the Senators office!

I hope we all get answers SOON!

Good Luck!

Lee sent in his checklist on Oct 27th...had his medical on Nov 10th and all the DOS could tell me when I called (Nov 25th) is that the Embassy received the medical results from Knightsbridge...and then those extremely hated words "Just be patient." GAH!!!! :(
