My house is paid for.....

Property taxes are always a b!tch, though.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

My partner owns a house.

He's had it for ten years or so, and will be putting it on the market.

Patience is a virtue....on all levels.

He may take a while to sell it, but will not lose money on it...he hopes.

Selling now is fvcking retarded. If one can afford to hold, one should. We're entering a time when many people will lose their fortunes, and those of us who do not will see our relative financial standings (relative, if not absolute) improve.

Hold. People who panic at times like this lose.

Oh there is no panic to sell...it's part of our plan to get the H out of Winter-ville for good.

Ha!

It will be put for sale, and one day it will sell.

There is no urgency.

I've never understood the reasoning of people who panic and try to unload what they have for next to nothing. If you wait out the morons, you'll come out ahead.

Unless they have to, of course. The only thing worse than selling when one is better off holding is holding when one should sell!

I didn't discuss it in the other thread, but holding off until we have saved enough to lower the interest rates and monthly to where we can either pay off the house quickly or have enough extra to enjoy ourselves, likely with kids. But, another big IF, is where. Right now we're 50/50, stay in California, or move to Canada (Saskatchewan has been looking nice, but their financial status matters too).

If credit tightens, I hope you're planning to save up enough for a substantial (> 50%) downpayment ;)
