I posted in the Sawasdee thread but I thought I would try it here also. Sorry for double posting but I need urgent help and would like to hear if anyone has had a similar experience.

------------------------------------------

Ok, it's my fault. I should've gotten this out sooner but I was waiting for my letter of employment. I just recently got employed. Anyway, I got the letter on Wednesday and sent out all the supporting documents Thursday (yesterday). Fedex told me it's scheduled to arrive Monday evening. I don't know how the Memorial Day holiday is going to affect this delivery. My husband's interview is Tuesday morning at 7 am. What should he do if the documents don't arrive on time? The problem is that he has to travel from Chiang Rai to Bangkok and he was planning to go down a day early and pay the $100 fee at the post office. Now he has to wait for the documents to arrive before going to Bangkok. Can he pay the fee at a post office in Chiang Rai or does it have to be in Bangkok? If the documents don't arrive in time, should he go to the interview anyway? There's no way to call the embassy, I know. I can email him all the documents as a PDF file but they won't be originals. I know the I-134 and employment letter have to be originals but I have to deal with the situation I've got here.

What's the worse case scenario? Should he go to the interview and ask to be rescheduled? We don't care if it has to be rescheduled for a later date. We just don't want to start from the beginning again. Yes, we still have our I-130 going through the process but that's the last option because it could take several months from now. I think I've heard that there have been cases in the past where documents were missing or the sponsor didn't meet the income requirement and those individuals were able to come back when they had enough evidence. Would our case be treated like that as well? Please, I am desperate and open to any suggestions. And yes, I accept criticism too. I should've done this sooner. I'm so mad at myself! Please help.

From what I have read in past posts.. it would be best to email or fax a copy of the letter. If it does not arrive in time have him still go to the interview. If they need further documents he will be asked to provide them but at least he will have the copy of what is the original.

I dont think that they asked for original document of the letter from employer.

The other thought is... where he is is not MEMORIAL day correct? therefore the holiday might not affect him... heheh..

think positive... .

it will be fine..

Thanks for the encouragement. To clarify, it's not just the employement letter that's in question. I sent ALL the documents: I-134, DS 230, DS 157, etc..etc. Proof of relationship, bank statements....EVERYTHING that is needed for the interview. All he has in his possession are the medical forms.

Why did you do the DS230 and DS157 - do you know that he has to do them - I hope you filled out the correct information (its not your info its his.) And are you nuts waiting till the last minute! I guess you like to play with this - so it is your choice. I would suggest emailing him everything and then he can go with copies of the docs and can explain to them if he doesn't get the originals. Good Luck

Yes, all the forms were filled out with his information. I took care of handling the paperwork so that all he had to do was sign them. His English isn't so great and some of the forms and instructions are hard to interpret even for us Americans.

Yes I have the tracking number and I've been tracking it like crazy. It's in Alaska right now. Fedex told me that it is scheduled to arrive Monday evening.
