Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I guess they have a valid reason!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

Crazy people scare me. We had/have a couple of crazy people at my former job and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they showed up one day to wreak havoc.

Let us know what they say when you finally get to talk to them, Jill. I'll bet that put some life into their Monday-morning-full-of-financial-disasters. To heck with what's going on in the world markets..... does that beer-drinking crazoid on our roof really have a bomb? I'm sure that'll be a timeline benchmark for years to come. "Ahhhh, yes...... The day the stock market crashed. That was the same day that Billy Bonkers threatened to blow up the building, wasn't it?" :lol:

Sigh....just shows to me how important social funding is to help organizations help other people....the man sounds like breaking up with his fiance was the straw that broke the camel's back....

I hate to say it but I'd rather here news about a disgruntled worker doing mischief (no bombs, just being an inconvenience) than having all the scary stuff that happens here in Florida like innocent people getting shot.....re: car theft got chased into a Walmart and then blatently shot at the police in the store while people were walking around....hit a pregnant woman but she's ok....

I'm in a psych rotation right now, wow what an eye opener!! Not a lot $$$ goes into psych, as it is not a big $$$ maker for the hospital!! All about the $$$$$

They didn't call today either, so I just e-mailed them to follow up!! It's no rush, I'm only moving in November but wanted to get my account all set up before I leave!!
