New bailout plan

I got this in an email. Any chance of Congress passing this?

I'm against the $85 BILLION bailout of AIG. Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a "We Deserve It" dividend. To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bona fide U.S. citizens, aged 18+.

Our population is about 301 million counting every man, woman and child. So, 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up. Now, divide 200 million, 18+ adults into $85 billion - that equals $425,000.00 each! Yes, my plan is to give that $425,000 to every adult as a "We Deserve It" dividend.

Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So, let's assume a tax rate of 30%. Everyone would pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25.5 billion right back to Uncle Sam! It also means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife would have $595,000.00!

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00?

Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.

Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads.

Put away money for college – it'll really be there.

Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.

Buy a new car – create jobs .

Invest in the market – capital drives growth.

Pay for your parent's medical insurance – health care improves.

Enable deadbeat parents to come clean – or else.

Remember this is for every adult U.S. citizen, 18 and older (including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehmann Brothers and every other company that is cutting back) and of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth, let's really do it instead of trickling out a puny $1,000.00 "economic incentive"!

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U.S. citizen!

As for AIG – liquidate it.

Sell off its parts.

Let American General go back to being American General.

Sell off the real estate.

Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

We deserve the money and AIG doesn't. Sure it's a crazy idea, but can you imagine the coast-to-coast block party?!

How do you spell Economic Boom? W-e D-e-s-e-r-v-e I-t d-i-v-i-d-e-n-d! I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion "We Deserve It" dividend more than do the 'geniuses' at AIG or in Washington, D.C..

And remember, my plan only really costs $59.5 billion because $25.5 billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam. Good idea? I think so.

We don't need to be printing out more money to give away and devalue the dollar even more.

We just need government oversight and regulations that were there before. When these regulations were present even in recessions such regulation prevented the economy, and especially self-regulating [<-- not that way before] mortgage lenders from bellying up in the way it has.

I wouldn't worry! Help is on the way...

COURIC: Why isn't it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families who are struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries; allow them to spend more and put more money into the economy instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?

PALIN: That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the--it's got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we've got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.

$85,000,000,000.00 / 200,000,000 = $425.00

Good Luck paying off that mortgage...

Yeah, whoever did their math missed a few zeroes. Big zeroes.

That would be 200,000 people would qualify for this, to get the rate at the original post. That means only.. 99% of the population left out of this? ;)

I'd like our $600,000 in gold please.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Help is on the way? That help? Then God help us all.

I mean really, she can't even put the cheap slogans she's been given (health care reform, tax reduction, job creation) put into a coherent statement or recognize when a question does or does not warrant parroting them off. I'd love to be a fly on the wall wherever she's going through the debate preparation. Her coaches will age roughly 5 years during the next few days. I swear, that's got to be a tough job to teach this airhead how to get through the debate without irreversibly becoming the laughing stock of the entire nation.

I read somewhere that she might just call in sick that day. That might be the least embarrassing option for McSame's campaign.

Would you be doubting her economic expertise now? How sexist!

In other words you've got to have a tax reduction if you are to reduce taxes. The woman's a financial genius!
