Hi all,

I heard that there is a waiting list for interviews at the Cairo embassy?!?!?! We are mailing our Packet 3 next Monday, can anyone share with me if you have recently sent your packet, or if you have been put on a waiting list...

Thanks

Linda

I think the way I understood it was that they are putting you on a list, and when your name comes up they schedule your interview....I was already familiar with the waiting my turn for the interview thing.....

yup its my third month waiting n counting. but im CR1 so i dont know if there was a difference.

Did you get packet 4? Did the letter say you were going on a list, or did it give a specific interview date?

Thanks for answering....

nope i didnt get anything :(we call NVC every 3rd week of the month -thats when schedualing is done- until the end of it and they say 'sorry u missed sept sch.' then its 'sorry u missed oct. too' and now we re supposed to call again this month and see if we made it!!

I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you get scheduled soon. We are going the K-3 route, and K visa interviews are scheduled by your embassy. We will not have to have NVC schedule our's, Cairo will do it. Maybe that is what I was hearing....that NVC has the waiting list?

Thank you for taking the time to respond, your answers were helpful.

We got our interview date fast .I think Egypt must have alot at the embassy now!

We had the same experience. Interview date was scheduled before his packet even got to his door. I think if its NVC it seems a bit slower than my experience and those I have talked w/ that have gone thru the embassy.

Just an FYI, this is how the rest of your USCIS life will go. You will be put on a list and when your name does come up you will be processed. This is how it worked all the way from K1 up to my husband's citizenship oath ceremony. Some things will never change.

Thanks everyone! I have days when I don't know how I will survive one more hour without my husband. To hear there may be a waiting list to wait for an interview is enough to make me cry :crying:

I hope we just get our packet 4 and it has a date on it, of I may loose my mind :bonk:

Alot DV applicants have their interview these days. CR1/IR1 scheduled through NVC which could take long time. K3 and k1 scheduled through the embbassy, it seems to me you may know your interview date as soon as you send P3 and receive P4.
