NPR just had some news....the DOW down 550 points.

Are we having fun yet?

Look I really do not think we need some corporations to make our world go round.

The greed has caused this kerfuffle.

It's time to let it collapse and re-invent it better...let it work for the people....not just a few rich guys.

:star:

The problem with a collapse is that it will mainly affect the average guy ... always the middle class. The rich have the resources to bounce back .

... never any skin off there back.

Sly

The bailout as it was written wont do much to help the average guy anyway. Discretionary incomes are shrinking which will impact economic growth. He could still loose his job due to a decrease in sales at the company he or she is working for.

And beware... last time we had a recession end, the upswing brought really nice profits just before a really nice round of layoffs.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I cannot build a better case than reality at the moment.

It is time to get back to basics.

Wakey wakey, shaky bakey!

Local food, local trade, local production, local everything...

WE CAN DO IT!

You mean like becoming Amish. They will probably survive much better then the rest of us.

Sly

Sly and Pedro, you guys are funny....great, I mean.

Perhaps Pedro you could send us the GPS coordinates and Sly could figure out how to make shoes by hand.

Yippee!

Please explain some more you guys...about how it would not help the average person, and about those profits "the last time".

Hmmmm.... very interesting...

As far as the rich recovering nicely, it's what they usually do, yes.

Unless...

....unless they are held accountable for the pure thievery and mal-intent not only to workers, but to the damage they cause to the earth as well.

Let 'em pay with their very last items of value.

Demand the laws change so that a corporation is not indeed a person in the eyes of the courts/law, but that the owners and shareholders are all held responsible and must give up all of their assets too....pay their debts as much as possible. I wonder how many countries they have those in, hmmmm?

(yeah yeah, i know i'm dreaming at this point, and that is where it all starts....)

This world has become too incestuous.

Even the Nikkei is being affected:

It's like a house of cards...very thin cards.

Yes, you VJ experts...how does this affect the individual, regular person?

Who could possibly answer that?

I imagine this game is so huge, that to delve into it, you might never be able to find your way back.

That rabbit hole...

I am stealing this from another website... but it sums it up well:

yes, we are so philosophically pure that we do not need direct deposit, atms, debit and credit cards, online bill paying, financing for cars, houses, boats, furniture. We do not need to work at a company that uses short term debt to meet its payroll. We do not need to drive on highways or ride on trains that use muni debt financing. We don’t need to shop at any stores that use credit to purchase inventory. we are not reliant on farms that use credit to finance crops. we don’t need to buy gas from countries that support our currency via purchase of treasuries and agency debt. we don’t need any debt at all so why don’t we just enjoy the collapse.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

Yup.

There it is.

sigh...

AND...

do we have to lie down and accept the status quo?????

Please see my earlier posts.

Changing things always hurts a little to start.

Anyone who needs some help with this might use the advice of this little and poignant book:

Who Moved My Cheese.

Enjoy!
