Hi All,

Ok lang ba na icheck in ko wedding gown ko sa airport? Malaki kasi ung box nya 32x22x7. :(

It varies which airlines, usually you are allowed to have 2 checked luggage (up to 50 lbs, no charge but shouldnt exceed 70 pounds) for couch. You can prolly put the gown in one bag and put fragile outside. Then you can just put the rest of your stuff on the 2nd luggage and your carry on.

WELL I WOULD SUUGEST WRAP IT IN A PLASTIC THE INTIRE GOWN EXCEPT THE PETICCOT... BETTER YOU BUY A STYRO BOX A STRONG ONE THE EVEN YOU SIT ON IT IT WONT BREAK THEN WRAP IT WITH PACKING TAPE... IT WILL JUST APPEAR LIKE A BALIKBAYAN BOX... IF YOU DONT LIKE THAT YOU CAN BUY LUGGAGE THERE IS ONE TYPE THAT IS MOULDED... THAT A BETTER OPTION THAN THE STYRO...

I can still remember when my husband brought with him my wedding gown going to US. Since we got married here in PI.

But my suggestion too would be, If you can just put it in its box and just put "handle with care". so you can just check it in.

Less hassle. Just a little tip too, you can write your husband's number on the surface of the box. Dont make it too BIG naman.:P In case something happen, it got lost or what so ever, there's always a quick contact number.

Congratulations and best wishes! (F)

Do NOT put it in your checked luggage. Put it in a garment bag, and carry it on the plane with you and ask the flight attendants to hang it up -- they usually have space in the front of the plane to hang up garment bags.

Put a note nlng...FRAGILE...GLASS-BREAKABLE... :P HANDLE WITH CARE!

in theory its a great idea. but in reality they don't treat luggage, boxes, etc. any different just coz it is labeled fragile or handle with care. it is a fact that the very expensive luggage gets thrown around just like the cheap luggage. I always get a laugh watching people affix those stickers to their luggage. anyway, if your husband can take it back. give it to him to take. thats what we did. and it worked out just fine.

2 Years ago I went to the Philippines and my mom in the states called me and asked me to buy a Parol. I think that is what it is called. Anyway, its made of capis shell and Christmas lights and it was big, about 4 feet in diameter. What can be more fragile than that... I put it in a regular cardboard box and the "airline" placed a fragile sticker on it. And I prayed. When I got to LAX it was intact. Your dress will make it. Just have the airline place their fragile sticker on it and pray.

Better bring your wedding gown here in the US ang mahal ng wedding gown dito I bought mine at the David's bridal for almost a thousand dahil may mga adjustments pa kasi at pag i-convert mo sa peso ang mahal na. Anyway, dont hand carry it kasi ang hirap naman nun dala-dala mo sya sa interview mo sa POE at saka ang laki ng airport ng Detroit ang layo ng lalakarin mo.
