Hello all,

I live in NYC and my fiance lives in Bangkok. We lived together for about one year in Thailand until I moved back to the U.S. in April. We speak on the phone everyday and through e-mail as well. We would like for her to come to America so that we could get married. Once here she will stay in NYC with me. It seems to me that a K1 visa would be our best bet, but I am unsure of what all the papers I need to get together to send to the USCIS. Also once I have everything together where would I send everything along with the 455 dollar payment to.

Thanks

Aaron

Hi Aaro, Welcome to VJ!!

Ok, the short answer is take a look at the guides. If you go into the forum for K1 visas and look at the top of the page, you will find a link that will take you to the step-by-step process to file your application.

After you take a look, you will be able to start asking some more specific questions, based on your personal situation.

Every couple's journey is a little different, but there is a great deal of experience on this site, and you can ask just about anything here ...

Good luck!!

Linda

Yes, check and study the guide first and then remember you'll be filing a petition, not an application. Later, your fiancee will file a visa application abroad.

When I stumbled onto the vj site, it was then me and my fiance realized that we really did'nt need an attorney for the K1 visa and probably saved thousands of $ And proof of this is that we have already received our noa#2 approval " (check our time line)" And we pride ourselves for what we accomplished thru the help of visa journey and it's members! so by all means click on the links to the visa guides and start reading, just pay attention to detail and you will find that it really is not that difficult!!!

good luck
