Our visa is pending and pending after it was refused (long long story there) I tried to reverse it. The montreal embassy said they would put him (my husband) through one more test. Well, so far nothing... it has been since March of this year 2008 he was approved then they stamped rejected on his visa.

I tried to get it reversed. Worked w/the montreal officer there in Monttreal Embassy..the officer I worked with said at monreal embassy keeps saying that my husband's visa is still "pending".

This is gruelling to have to be apart with no answer in sight. Nothing. We have been married 2 yrs with no living together as yet.

I try faxing, calling and emailing same thing. We are married and haven't lived togetther yet and it has been 2 yrs.

I do not want to get a divorce but the embassay won't respond with some kind of answer. What to do?

Any suggestions out there would be helpful. Again all I get is they tell me it is pending. Each and every time.

Thank you for any suggestions like I said it was approved in March. He is in Canada, me in USA and it was approved

March of this year 2008 and then reversed (long story) and I reversed it in March and still pending. They gave him a test

and that was in April and now no word yet and here it is Octber almost.

Please any directions would be helpful.

This sounds very confusing! I'm afraid you're going to have to give us more information before anyone here can help you. Other than emailing the Consulate and putting your case number on the Subject line for them to get back to you, I don't know what to say. You could try calling your Senator or Congressman to get involved to find out why it's still pending.

You said it was approved, then denied, and YOU reversed it in March? Sorry...I don't know what that means.

Have you two been visiting in the interim?

Why don't you try moving to Canada instead of contemplating divorce? If his visa was denied, I don't know anything about reversal of the decision. Again, more info as to denial and what you mean.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Agree with Carla on this, you haven't given us enough information to help really.

Why was it approved and then cancelled - did you cancel it? What 'test' was he given, is there some question of a bonafide relationship?

Yes, what kind of "test"?

Have you talked with or faxed a visa info specialist at the Dept of State in DC? Sometimes they are helpful and give you the most accurate information when the consulates won't give you the time of day. If you haven't, it's worth a try. Expect to wait on hold for at least ten minutes before you get to talk to a person. If the first one isn't helpful, call back. I was very impressed by one specialist we talked to there. Remember - part of marriage is endurance. Hang in there!
