My wifes greencard was approved and I received the welcome letter from her dated Sept. 19th and have not received the actual greencard. She is out of the country right now and will be returning on Wednesday, she was going to use her AP papework to come back, can she still do that? Will she be able to come back without her greencard or stamp in her passport? Should I fax her the "Welcome Letter" so she can show that to the immigration agents?

She can use her AP to enter US. She can also tell the immigration officer about her GC approval but it really won't make a difference. She has permission to come into the country.

I would be calling the CBP el pronto! as AP may be cancelled upon approval of greencard.... I hope it is but I do not think the answer is quite cut and dried as she can use it so do not worry...

I called CBP and the lady said that the advanced parol document is still valid until my wife has her greencard in hand, hopefully she will not run into any issues on her trip home.

Does she get back in the next few days? If not, there may be a problem. Once CIS thinks that the card was delivered they may cancel the AP and she's going to have a problem.

She gets back on Wednesday Oct. 1st, only 11 days after the "Welcome" letter was dated.
