First, they took on a ton of I-751 petitions from TSC (mine included) in January. Which was a God-send as we were at a standstill at TSC.

Then, they put everything, and I mean everything, on hold to priority process naturalization petitions, because they were woefully behind on them. I also heard that they did some B2 visas as well. This was April/May, and that lasted a long time.

Methinks Vermont still hasn't recovered from all of this.

Console yourself with the fact that there are people that:

--got transferred to VSC the same time that I was (filed in mid-2007) and still haven't been approved

-- that filed their I-751s to TSC in 2006 and as far as I know still haven't been approved.

Hi Everyone,

As I mentioned before in another message thread in this forum, and likewise applies to the message thread here too:

It doesn't seem fair that at the CSC it takes an average of 4-5 months, whereas at the VSC it takes an average of 10months-1year, for processing the I-751 cases. There should definitely be some consistency there, especially if they are charging the same amount for the processing at both locations. Why do they think that I-751 cases at the VSC are "less important" than other cases and would rather process those other ones first instead? Didn't they distribute the workload evenly? And why is it that only 2 centres are processing the I-751 cases, instead of the 4 that they before? Oh well, we have only to guess as to what the "real reason" is behind the delay is.....

Oh how they make the people at the VSC wait for what seems like forever for something one is only going to have for a short time! :crying:

Meanwhile, the only thing to do is wait, and be really really patient.....

My wife and I filed in mid-February of this year for removing conditions of residence (ie: 2 year greencard expired, now wanting a 10 year) which is within the 90 day timeframe. She had her new biometrics taken in March per the follow-up I-797C, and as of today the online status is still "follow directions on the I-797C" which we've done to the letter.

We're in the Boston region so our application is with the Vermont service center. According to this thread we can expect a Christmas present from the CIS, am I more or less on the mark?

One more question: What is the "priority date" on the CIS online status site? They're still stuck in 2007 (last updated 2 months ago).

Well...here's the thing...you have your paperwork in. One difference does it take if they take 1 day or 1 month or 1 year or 1 decade to process it? Life is the same either way.

Hell, if they take long enough, you might even have citizenship before they remove conditions.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

I'm pretty sure my husband will have his American passport before we receive his 10 year green card! We only applied for the conditions to be removed in August, so we are just babies on this forum. It is really disheartening to see so many people who have been waiting for so long.

See my timeline for all previous dates!

Naturalization:

6/28/09: Mail N-400 to Texas

7/6/09: NOA1

7/24/09: Biometrics

10/08/09: Interview

11/21/09: Receive oath date

01/22/10: Oath Date

With thanks to all the helpful people who made this journey slightly more bearable.

OMG- I just looked at the CSC timeline- people who applied in JUNE have been approved. I've stayed off that thread so as not to upset myself, but having just looked I'm insane with annoyance!!!! People at VSC waiting for a good solid year or more and people at CSC being approved in a few months?! OK, I've gotta stay off these threads- I'll see you all when a) we're approved or B) we start applying for naturalization!

See my timeline for all previous dates!

Naturalization:

6/28/09: Mail N-400 to Texas

7/6/09: NOA1

7/24/09: Biometrics

10/08/09: Interview

11/21/09: Receive oath date

We are at CSC right now. Applied in August. At this point, I could care less how long it takes. I'd only sweat it when it nears that one year mark on the NOA and we have to drive down and get a stamp in the passport. Otherwise, it makes absolutely no difference.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
