Buying Airticket options

I hope this is in the right forum.

My husband will be coming to India in November and we are looking for Air tickets. Everything is good except the fact that my husband’s credit card limit is only $500 (and ticket cost at $750) and he will get a debit card in November.

A bad deal with AOL internet service had him cancel his credit card a couple of years ago and redo everything. Basically he doesn’t have any means of online buying, so what other options does he have? Are there sites which accept checking account or MO by any chance? I did hear about prepaid Visa cards, but how they do work?

Going to a travel agent will be a bit costlier, so can others show me any other option regarding this.

There is a company called greendot they are prepaid visa and master card.You can buy the card at cvs and also the money packs , which u then add to the card. this is the lionk for the website they also have other stores where the card can be purchased on this site https://www.greendotonline.com/contents/login.aspx

Another little secret

You can check online for the rates

I go to sidesteps.com and click on the other search engines attached to the site

basically in one click you'll have all the travel site replies

I check to see which one has the lowest fare.

Most of the time, write down the flight details that's on sale, and GO STRAIGHT to the airline website and book the flight directly.

Some flight give you the options to put a hold on the itinerary, you can Hold the flight, then Write down the itinerary number and Go to the airport to make the payment

If you need to use cash, your only option is likely a travel agent. It may not be much more expensive, and would save you the hassle of needing to get a credit card.

Prepaid visa cards are an option, but he may need to show the card upon check-in. That requirement does vary by airline.
