NOA1 - Incorrect Information

All - Please help me!! Am I unusual or does some has this experience. What should I do ?

I received my NOA1 for I-129F petition ( ) for case filed Sept 22nd. That is good news. However,

1. Beneficiary name - Instead of stating beneficiary name as my fiancee's name, they have put my name and alien registration number. My fiancee does not have a last name and has only one name - first name. Cultural reasons.

2. Alien registration # - I am a naturalized US citizen. I had an Alien registration # when I was a green card holder which carried over to my naturalization certificate as CIS registration number.

My number is 0xx xxx xxx. In my NOA1 - they have incorrectly put it as 5xx xxx xxx.

What should I do? Is this an issue that I need to be concerned about?

Thanks,

Your NOA1 tells you to call and correct any errors. There's a phone number on it. That should do the trick, I believe. :)

Did you have any errors and did they fix it?

What does it say in your beneficiary's name?

No, my NOA1 is error-free. But there are lots of people who have posted on VJ about mistakes on their NOA1 and have had it fixed with little problems by calling the number on the form. :)

Thank you so much. This gives me some hope.

1. What did they put under beneficiary - your name or your beneficiary's name. In my case, they have my name (petitioner). Will they change that to my fiancee's name

2. What mistake did they make for you? Name spelling? Mine is alien registration number.

Thanks.

Can someone who has been through the process with changing information on NOA1 help me with regard to what they changed and whether the changes take place immediately, as well as their experiences with the CSC office. How long does it take to get thro' etc... Should I start this as a separate thread for some help. Thank you.

I think it had more to do with her family. I cannot generalize it to the entire culture either. However, I have seen in certain cultures in India.

The only reason I ask is to perhaps head off any potential problems/delays down the road for you guys. What you don't want to do is have to keep correcting this issue all the way through your journey.

Am not certain leaving a 'family name' blank or something similar is such a good idea (if that is what occurred). As far as I know - most countries recognize a legal name (such as what would be on a passport or birth certificate for example) and that is what should be used for virtually any type of Visa.

You are right. We had to leave the last name blank. However, her passport also does not have her last name either. It has only her first name. She has received visa to come to the US as well using that passport on B1/B2.

They had themselves fixed it for some reason. They said the name in their system was what I had provided. Also, they corrected my A#. It was pretty straight forward. I am just now going to play the waiting game like the rest of you.
