mark...ummm...yeah...what?

as far as cooking, I always cook. neil microwaves and does poorly. I would never eat anything he cooks because it's either burnt, overcooked, or curry

eta: oooooh I get it now...mark does the cocking...makes more sense

I would guess that I cook about two-thirds of the time, and Adriano cooks 1/3. We are pretty evenly split, but I do cook a lil more often than he does.

Doing the dishes is another story. I do that 99% of the time, and am very bitter about it.

I am the female USC.

The dishes are mainly done by him, but sometimes I do the dishes I use to cook with before we even eat (we're weird like that).

I do that too!! It drives me nuts to just be accumulating a mess while I am cooking. It's so much easier to clean as you go.

I'm the chef in the house. The husband enjoys the meals. One thing he does in the kitchen is heat up my oatmeal. No complaints on my part, after tasting his "bachelor" spaghetti we decided he's better off washing the dishes. He's the USC.

That way too, I get to incorporate veggies, fiber and all the good stuff in his diet without much fuss.

I am the USC and my wife is the foreign-born immigrant.

So far cooking is split roughly 50%. I seem to do about 75% to 85% dishes. (I do all of the dishes we use together. I see she washes some of the dishes she uses during the day.) If she's cooking, I will also wash dishes as she cooks to minimize the wash up time afterwards, too.

I do 100% of the laundry. I'm pretty sure I do close to, if not the full, 100% of the general cleaning, too. (ie, dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing bathrooms, etc.)

I've occasionally fussed about it, but since most of it is stuff I've had to do before she got here, it's not a huge deal. (Though she uses one of the guest bathrooms because it has a bath and not just a shower. Also, I only used 1 toilet in the house before she got here just to minimize cleaning. She uses all of them. So it adds a little extra work.)

She is appreciative of me doing it, which is most important.

I, the wife USC, do most of the cooking during the week. But my husband is good at cooking Indian food and he cooks that on the weekends most times. He'd probably be a good cook but he doesn't know how to make all the different kinds of food I make for dinner from all different nationalities. He is just good at Indian food, oh but he can make grilled cheese sandwiches too. :P

I am the better cook. When she gets tired of my cooking, we switch to maultashen and wurst platte.

Ahem, I cook international dishes.

Even then my cooking talents are wasted 'cos it gets restricted by her constant griping when I fry things or for lack of fresh veggies in my dishes.

And I can't cook some stuff I like since we got married. Stuff like chitterlings (the Chinese way) or fried stuff..

Since she's away this week-end, I think I'll do just that....fix me some chitterlings :)

Before i came to the US, i told my husband that the only cooking that i do in my home country is fry and boil eggs. he said that he'll cook for me when i get here in the US. i've tried to learn how to cook filipino food for him to try. lo and behold, i ended up cooking most of the time now.
