My case is pending for a long time... No update since EAD in April. My lawyer have the congress to check up on it. This is what she came back with.

"It is pending the G-325 background check."

Is the G325 background check the same as "name check", how long does that take typically? What do they really check??

Sorry for your delay..on our experience based from k1 it delayed us almost a year and a half because of that background check...I hope it won't happen again this time with my AOS..anyways it can take from 6 months to 2 years..ButI think there's a law from UCSISnow Im not really sure but if your case is more than 180 days and the background check is still pending...they should approve your AOS. I'll try to find the info specific to that..

Okay. I have been living in the states for over 6 years now as a student. We applied AOS when I was a F1/OPT visa.

I hope it won't be that long...

Lili, just looking at most february ppl already got the interview finished or lined up. I got nervous a little bit. And I got big travel plan during christmas, of course, we are crossing our fingers the interview happened before our oversea trip. :)

I wish you do get that interview before christmas. :)

Just keep on top of it, make sure your file doesn't get "forgotten". But there is nothing you can do at this point to help things speed along.
