Hi everyone :) My husband has received NOA2 for both I-130 & I-129F. It says on NOA2 that our case is now forwarded to NVC. Our question is, how can we be notified that our case has already been received by NVC and how long will our case be processed in NVC before it will be sent to US Consulate? What are the requirements that NVC will need from us? How can we check our case while in NVC?

Thanks for your answers in advance

NVC will mail you a DS-3032 and AOS bill which signifies that they have been received at NVC. You could also call NVC at 1(603)334-0700 and press 1 then 5 to speak to a rep. You should read the guides especially Loto's guide and it will tell you what you need. The processing at NVC depends on how fast you return all the required documents. One advice would be to obtain the IIN number from the NVC rep once the DS 3032 and AOS fee has been generated so that you can pay online, that cuts the time dramatically. Also get all the documents prior so that it can be processed faster. Good luck and I hope that helps.

This is if you want to proceed with the CR1 route.

Since you filed for a K3 visa, your husband needs to call the NVC about a week after both petitions were approved by the USCIS to see if they got it. They will then assign you a case number and then forward it to the embassy. The embassy will contact you after they receive it and then assign your interview date.

Depends whether the I-130 is forwarded to the NVC or only the I-129F?

Either way you need to keep calling NVC to get your case number(s) so that you can start to prepare for the interview. If you're going for a k3 visa then you will need to contact the US embassy once it has had enough time to arrive there. Once they have the case # in their system there you can hopefully make an interview appointment and make the necessary arrangements for the medical, document verifications, visa payment, etc.... in advance of the interview.
