Ok Ms. Palin, let me tell you something. My parents never gave me a dime for school or for traveling. If it is something you want to do you find a way to do it. I got my own passport, saved my own money from the two jobs I worked and found a way to go to Europe several times.

And no book or any other medium prepared me as well for understanding other cultures than actually stepping foot on their soil and being the guest in someone else's house. You know that old saying about walking a mile in someone else's shoes don't you?

How many kids did you raise while you were traveling in Europe?

Huh? You don't have to have kids as teenagers any more...most people wait.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Some people didn't wait hence the difference in time to travel.

I doubt Palin was dragging her kids around with her while doing governor/mayor work. Logic says either the husband was a housewife or someone else took care of the kids.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if dragging her kids along for the campaign trip was the most traveling they ever did with her.

That isn't the point. She laments that she didn't have a silver spoon in her mouth so she couldn't travel Europe. If she decided to have a family instead than good for her...but she made that choice instead of using the time to figure out how to go places. If she was truly curious about the world she would have found a way to make it work.

Why is that important?

It's more expensive and more time consuming to travel with kids is it not? Of course, the little rugrats don't need to go to school either while they are doing the grand tour of Europe. Seems pretty easy if you live in Europe.

I'm 33, don't have any kids and I still haven't been to Europe. And have no plans to.

But I've had a passport since I was a few months old.

Uppity elitist.

So? I completely plan on raising my children with a knowledge of the world. Buy a plane ticket, not a flat screen. She didn't have 5 kids all at once, why didn't she go anywhere when she only had 1 or 2? I'm sorry, but I think having a general knowledge of the world (which needs to be EXPERIENCED, not read about) is a prerequisite for being VP. Let's not forget, Obama has 2 little girls and has actually left the US. To be 2nd in line for the most responsible and powerful position in the country, if not the world requires you to be a good world citizen and a good student. She clearly is not. And really, how dumb are voters if they want her to be just like them. That is the stupidest logic EVER. I have no respect for anyone that thinks this woman is in any way capable of running the country in one of the most difficult economies and international political climates we've ever faced.
