Hey JG -- I use to go Jamaica for 4 weeks at a time. Now, that we're hiring another secretary I'll be able to do it again. I was losing vacation time. But since the birth of my son I make sure I didn't lose anymore leave.

Hey JG -- I use to go Jamaica for 4 weeks at a time. Now, that we're hiring another secretary I'll be able to do it again. I was losing vacation time. But since the birth of my son I make sure I didn't lose anymore leave.

I can't wait till I work my way up to 4 weeks of vacation. Although, it would be nice if my hubby worked his way up to that too. Otherwise, not much of a point.

I love having a lot of vacation - When I started here, we got two weeks and could "buy" a third each year when we did our benefit enrollment - I haggled and got 3 from the start, then buy the week - Plus we get set holidays and optional ones, so the optional ones can be used at any time and pretty much add another week to your vacation - So right now I get 5 weeks, soon I will get another if I stay working here -

I still have 7 1/2 weeks left for the year. We can only carry over 240hrs into the next year, so most of the use or lose leave I'll be using this time in Jamaica. In January, I'll get another 4 weeks. That's one plus with working for the government. We also accrue 4hrs a pay period for sick leave.
