I have a sister who is in the US who also applied for K1 two years ago and is happily married to her husband now. What shall I put on the line? Legal permanent resident? Will this affect my k1 application too considering that there are two of us in the family who applied for K1?

Feb. 1, 2010- Biometrics appointment at 8a.m.

March 2,2010- AP approved

March 9,2010- Hard copy received

March 12, 2010- I-485 receipt notice for interview

March 18,2010- received letter for initial interview

April 19, 2010- 8 :15 A.M INTERVIEW DATE ( APPROVED 5min.Interview)

APRIL 20, 2010- USCIS website updated card production ordered

August 20, 2010 - NOA1 received

October 4, 2010 - Biometrics

January 3, 2011 - Permanent 10 yr. Green Card Received.

Hi!

About your situation... I don't think it will affect your case. As long as you sister doesn't have any criminal records in the US and as long as she is there with legal papers... Then everything is fine. There's is no limit with regards to K1 application. As long as you will present all the documents needed.

Also... just to make thiings better for you. You asked your sister a copies of her legal papers so just in case the consul will ask you about your sister.. at least you have a back up papers to show them. DOn't worry everything will be okay. :-)
