Hey Everyone !

My husband is living in Upstate NY, I'm 2hrs across the border in Toronto. We married in June of this year, on August 15th our application for Form I-130 was received by the CA State Centre. The application was received and is currenly "pending."

Due to our close proximity across the border I'll be staying in Canada while we wait for my immigration to complete. This way we can both continue working in our respective countries and still see each other on weekends, etc. I've crossed the border many times, and even though I'm a "pending immigrant" the US customs agents are fine and let me go across to see him every other week.

I'm looking to hear from any Canadians that have gone through this process- how long does it normally take for form I-130 to be approved once it's received? I've checked the current processing times on USCIS's website and it's approx 6 months of waiting, but i've read many different stories on this website, some stating it's taken as little as two months, so I'm not sure what to think!

Can any Canadians chime in on their experiences? I'd love to get some more insight. Right now I'm worried it will take years to complete, which is frustrating considering we only live 2 hours away from one another.

Thanks in advance
