Hi gals! I am new to the site, and was trying to find posts from U.S. women filing for foreign men. I was hoping to get a kind of poll started: What country your man is from, age difference in any, how you met, etc.....

For myself, I am a little worried about the age difference. I am OLDER than he is. I know this is OK with men marrying women but any older gals snagged a younger foreign man with no troubles? Could use some words of encouragement from those who have gotten through the process without snags because of this. Is this age thing a real big issue? He is 21 and I am 35, what do you think?

Would love to hear from the women here and any advice for a newbie starting out, what were the biggest obstacles in your opinion? Thanks alot!

Panama,he's 6 years younger than me,we met when we were little kids in 1982.

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit, nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !

June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

Yes it's fine a guy can go to some 'hot Russian models' website and get a girl 20-30 years younger, maybe he's fat, balding and isn't even that rich but it seems like these guys have no problem - an average-looking American woman with a cute younger guy, oh he must be a fraud because if a woman isn't a 25-year-old 'model' then why would a guy, especially a younger guy go for her except for the GC???? I wonder if a CO has ever said to a Russian or Filipina woman 'how can you love him- he's not handsome??' but oh yeah it's ok for a CO to point out that your wife is 'not even beautiful' during an interview. :ranting: The double standard is amazing.....

Exactly!

Ha, is finding the person of your dreams a part of the ERA? Or even limited to your home country? Actually my wife found me and prayed that I would respond, am 12 years older than her, and sensed there was a certain magic about her, we really hit it off, tried to see as much of possible each other and did get married after two years. We are already married for five years and would have to say, very happy with each other. Know a couple of guys that went for that hot young stuff from Russia, really didn't work out for them, and I would never feel right dating a girl young enough to be my daughter. The only thing that saddens both of us, we didn't meet 25 years ago.

With over 6 billion people on this earth, somebody is right for each of us, just hope all of you can find that person. Finding that right person with an extremely strong platonic and biological attraction is nothing short of a miracle.

Ha, nobody mentioned the USCIS to me, but that nightmare is also over for us.

My baby's almost 2 years younger than me, I'm 20 and he's 18. I wonder at times if they'll take us seriously, but I don't mind and he doesn't care as long as I'm here. Luckily, he was already in the US, so we're living together while we go through this process and I don't have to be separated from my husband. There have been larger age gaps than yours that have worked out.

Fall 2007- J and I met at work.

Christmas 2007- We started seeing each other a few times a week.

January 9,2008- Made our dating status official, J turned 18.

February 2008- J and I moved in together.

June 1,2008- J proposed!!!!!

September 09,2008- J and I got married at the courthouse.

September 16,2008- HUGE fight with J's parents.

September 22,2008- Finally got J's birth certificate and passport.

November 15, 2008- Ceremony for family and friends.

This makes me sick. I read some posters review about her mans interview that said they brought up the fact that she couldn't have children. SO WRONG! Not to mention everyone warns me that he is using me for a green card, like I am a mindless idiot that can't tell if someone truly cares about me or not?! Will women just always be seen as brainless morons whos only worth lies in how pretty they are? :crying:

I may post this as a new quesion but for all you girls, how did you MEET your foreign man? And were you always attracted to that race of people or was it a surprise?

Hello,

I am 17 years older than my husband. I found this forum and glad I did. I hope I have enough to convince during the interview of a bono fide relationship. We are so much in love and I hope that everything will go alright during the interview. If Tom Cruise and God know who else can marry 20+ years younger than them, we can too! We don't think of the age difference. Otherwise, I have to move to India.

I have the following:

Joint Bank Accounts - USA

Will - spouse as beneficiary

Military Life and health documents as him as benificary

Name changes on everything

Phone bills

Letters

Western Union Receipts

pictures

I have been to India 2x since we have been married and I am going again during X-mas.

Is there anything else anyone can think of that we may need?

I do not want to go through AP since it looks like I might have to stay here another year under military orders.

AHhhh I met my husband at my best friends house the very first night he came to the United States. He didn't speak a word of English and I didn't speak a word of spanish. I was attracted to him instantly. He will tell you the same about me. It took us a while to actually get together because of the language barrier. Once we were over that it was great. I am 41 and he is 28 this Friday. He came to the US Sept 2005. Has been back in Costa Rica for about a year and a half. ( since August 2007) I went to Coast Rica last November to marry him. Our 1st Anniversary is November 30th. I am traveling back to Costa Rica Tomorrow to be with him only for 9 days. This is my 7th time traveling to CR this year. It is very hard to be apart from him. I miss him so much.

My husband is a gorgeous person. I feel very lucky to have found him.

DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE AGE DIFFERENCE I don't think the age difference will matter as long as it is a REAL marriage. Love is Love. It doesn't matter.

Hello ~ I dont think age would be an issue either. I'm 41 and my guy is 36. He is in Nepal and I'm in Washington State.

We met last April (07)

Spent 2 weeks in Germany July 08

Applied for Fiance Visa 8/08

Received 10/03 ck was cashed

Since 10/03 we have heard nothing. Our lawyer told us the time line right now is running about 5 months but we will see... YES the waiting is the hardest part. We have email and Web cameras and phone calls. We talk everyday.
