Sarah Palin, not Hillary Clinton, represents real women

Sarah is the coolest - check, make that the hottest - female to hit the national political scene in my lifetime. And wouldn't you know, she's a bonafide conservative gal who is an evangelical believer and who prays for God's will in all her doings. Imagine that!

To heck with the naysayers over this VP pick. She has so energized the Republican Party that she's now being hailed as the new Ronald Reagan "in a skirt and high heels." Apart from the fact that it was Republicans who actually put a woman in a veep slot, the best part of this whole scenario is Americans are seeing up close the stark difference between Sarah, a modern-day well-rounded female, and Hillary, a radical old dying breed of hippie feminist.

Some of the dumbest of Dems are speculating about Sarah's ability to care for her newborn baby and other kids and also work in government at a job. This has got to be the mother of all insults to every working mom in America with a baby and/or other children. Well, to these dumb Dems, this is how it works.

Moms like Sarah get up at 5 a.m. with the chickens, pump breast milk or mix formula, pack up diapers, pacifiers, wet wipes, Desitin cream, and Lord only knows what else. They roust the teens out of bed to eat breakfast, load backpacks, etc., and check to see if hubby's socks match. If there's any spare time left before she heads out the door to load up the SUV, deposit each kid somewhere and get to her job ahead of time, she just may be able to hot-curl her hair. If not, she hastily sweeps her tresses atop her head or opts for the classic pony tail, and away she goes.

You know, I finally figured out why Democratic feminists keep carping about Sarah walking and chewing gum at the same time. These Dem mammas don't go through this routine. The government does their job for them, and has for several generations.

They don't bother with rolling out of the sack early to fix breakfast. The government feeds their kiddies at school. The government-run yellow bus picks up and deposits their kids for them. And oh yeah, they don't obsess over being late to work. If their boss points out their failure to get to work on time, they'll yell "single mom discrimination" so fast it'll make one's head swim. You get the picture!

But the worst maligning and besmirching of Sarah Palin has come from heathens in the mainstream press over her faith and how she expresses it. She grew up in the Assemblies of God Church in Wasilla, Alaska, and worshipped there until recently. These evangelical believers have been falsely and maliciously portrayed by the liberal press as far-right, off-the-charts kooks bordering on lunacy. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I grew up right here in Jackson in the Assemblies of God church for the first 20 years of my young life. Like Sarah, I was baptized at age 12 in a lake - the old lake at the Fairgrounds. For the next six years, I worshipped in the Assemblies and Catholic churches. At age 26, I joined the Baptists, where I remain to this day.

For all the "nervous nellies" who think the Assemblies espouse some hocus-pocus gospel, get over it! This group of believers is as mainstream as any Baptist I've ever encountered. And yes, sure enough, once in awhile, an Assembly believer may "speak in tongues," but so may a spirit-filled Baptist or Catholic in their prayer time.

Former Attorney General John Ashcroft was (and is) a lifelong Assemblies of God member. He never had to endure the kind of flack now aimed at Sarah over how or where he worshipped.

Also, will someone please tell the trashy Hollywood feminist broads who are dissing Sarah, to get back to rehab quickly? Sarah represents real women - not these dopey misogynists, for Pete's sakes. I'm excited about the likelihood of Sarah Palin actually becoming the first female veep in history.

Palin is hot and I don't really have a problem with her, but comparing her to Ronald Reagan is just wrong. I also think that half the reason she's popular is because she is hot... there was another woman on McCain's short list but she made Hillary look like a babe... I wonder why McCain didn't choose her?

I feel represented by Palin. I too can understand other cultures by reading about them, don't like to leave the US, believe in telling everyone what is best for them and am therefore capable of running a town, state or country. Definitely my rallying post. Plus all Republicans are hard working mama's and Democrats are all irresponsible mothers who rely on the gov. to parent.

How funny...every Republican mom I know sends their kids to school on a bus, obsess over being late to work because they need that job to feed the kids. And these are the married ones.

I don't know who is having their job done for them...the only ones that I know of, both repub and dem, are extremely wealthy!

I'm a "dem mama" (it only has one 'm') and my kids go to private school, and since I am one of the bosses, if I showed up late and got in trouble, would I have to tell myself that I was bad?

Never ever ever ever ever heard anyone ever in my Catholic church (or any of the ones I've attended over the years) or the Baptist church my daddy used to attend, or even the Lutheran churches I've attended with friends....or any synagogues I've gone to -- speak in tongues. In fact, the only time I've ever witnessed this was at an Assembly of God church.
