Reached before McCain could even get there, to "save the day". LOL

As of today, nothing has been reached.

I for one disagree with the bailout. The same people who brought us to this mess are the ones fixing it? Its idiotic and plain stupid.

Removal of Conditions :

August 16, 2010 - Petition received by USCIS Vermont Center

August 20, 2010 - NOA1 received

October 4, 2010 - Biometrics

January 3, 2011 - Permanent 10 yr. Green Card Received.

We (taxpayers) are eventually on the hook for all this, but for now we've got to borrow it from China and Europe. We'll be paying them back for DECADES. Of course, the next shoe to drop is credit card debt. Discover just reported a sharp drop in earnings due to increased defaults. Eventually, we'll be on the hook for that too.

The bottom line: 10 years from now, the U.S. will have ceased to be the world's dominant economic power.

Both parties are to blame, but this administration has had no eyes or ears for anything but their phoney and incredibly expensive "war on terror" (as if one could declare war on fear). if it hadn't been for a useless war in Iraq, we'd have that $1 trillion as a pad right now.

Last week the government made the (general) public panic by saying they it was imperative to take action right away.

A week has gone by.

Has the sky fallen Chicken Little?

Hmmm...

Harder to get a credit card now too - lenders aren't just going off the credit score anymore... There's more emphasis on actual earnings.

Which is how it should have been all along.

I thought they'd have figured that out earlier - given how many collections cases go to court. There's a whole industry built up around unpaid debt.

Hallelujah!

And what about the integrity of these CEO types who allow things to go so far down that the corporation goes into an abyss?

In other words who "polices" such huge companies?

No need to answer....

A company is in business to make money.

If it loses money then it closes.

What is rocket science about that?

From Europe??? #######

Our debt-to-GDP ratio is about 67 per cent. The EU "average" debt-to-GDP ratio is 79 per cent.

Some European countries' debt exceeds their GDP (Italy to name one.)
