The other day I had to pick up the wife from the Newark airport, and while I was waiting in the car at the pick-up area, I saw this guy go up to one of the airport cops to ask a question. For some reason the cop just went ballistic and kept shouting at the man to "Step off! Step off!". It was very weird.

Yeah, it's that power/control/testosterone/steroids kicking in again.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

It was weird - just some guy with his case and the cop went ballistic at him...

Strangely we didn't get yelled at when we had to change a tire there a few months back. The cops didn't help of course... I guess keeping the traffic moving isn't that important...

Police need training to realize that tasers are lethal weapons.

The death of the young Polish immigrant at Vancouver airport last Summer was another such ridiculous use of power when unnecessary.

I didn't know police can fire bolts from a distance!!!

Official: Cop commits suicide after stun gun death

NEW YORK (AP) -- A police lieutenant committed suicide Thursday, days after he ordered another officer to fire a stun gun at a naked, distraught man who then fell to his death, police said.
Wow - now there's some justice!!

No, that's a case of man who made two dumb and deadly decisions. The order to taser a guy on a ledge was dumb but it didn't called for a self-inflicted death penalty.

I think it's the most honorable and reasonable thing he could have done. Let's hope the guy who actually fired the taser follows his Lt's example.

So we can expect you to blow your brains out if you are speeding and accidently kill someone in the process?

Depends. Was it a hit and run, or did I get caught? If I am looking at jail time, or losing my house and savings, then yeah, I'm just going cut right to the end and do myself in, sure. Screw going to jail.

FWIW, I'm really not a speeder. My car is way too slow for that sort of thing.
