HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Hope something turns up for you. I know how stressful it is....when I went back into the working world, I remember thinking I would never find anything. And jobs that I knew I was qualified for, I didn't get interviewed for, or if I did get an interview, I never heard another word. Hang in there....keeping my fingers crossed for you :)

Dont be afraid to call them...so many people are really slow decision-makers and it is likely half the applicants were so alike that they couldn't decide...an applicant that follows up can stand apart from the others. Also, you never know. they might have chosen someone that they hate by now or isnt working out. Good Luck!!!

No real suggestions other than to just keep your chin up. I too am having no luck in the job department despite applying for jobs I'm quite qualified for if not more so. I also worried about the "authorized to work in the US" part in cover letters. I decided to keep it in because all my job experience is in Canada and it kind of ties it in (why no US experience is in there) saying I'm a new resident to the US but am authorized to work here. I kind of chalk up my lack of luck to not having any US experience and employers being turned off a bit by that. I dunno. Whatever it is, I hope someone will just give me a chance.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and for myself. I haven't itched this bad to work since starting out again after having my daughter.

I wish you the very best of luck... hope you get that call soon (F)

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007

I-751 posted on 6th August 2009

Received on 7th August 2009 in VT

Cerise, sorry I missed this. I was wondering if you had heard. Well, if you haven't completely give up on the job you interviewed for and are still interested, I would call them. It's always best to follow up with a phone call to reinforce your interest and to just find out what's going on.

:thumbs: I totally agree with missliss, give them a follow-up call. Sometimes they get held up for the stupidest things like the interviewer is out with the flu, or the reference they wanted didn't call back cause that person had the flu.

Hang in there, keep that nose to the grindstone, you can do it

***takes a big breath*** oh, out of cliches/ :bonk:

I'm really hoping you get something that YOU like. Lotsa hugs going out to you.

Ditto. Ditto, ditto, ditto.

Also, you know you're a good technical writer. If you don't get this job, maybe it's a sign that you should be looking more in that area - which I think would make you happier anyway.

Hugs!
