I see we are walking a tightrope between informing and confusing. I was one of the worse offenders and I now see it is wrong to do it. That is why I have decided to just send my letters to my elected officials, collect info on my other thread and wait to see what happens. Until something official comes down it is all speculation anyway. I suggest we all cool it.

All this second guessing and hearsay seems a bit unnerving. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful that people here are willing to share information but I hope that we're all careful not to spread disinformation or rumor. Just my 2 cents."

The above is a quote from another thread. This is part of what worries me about the second guessing being done here.

I would pose this - are those of you who are presently in the IMBRA "black hole" perhaps suggest that those USC's who are about to submit a petition hold off? Are we confusing people doing research to the extent that they will attempt to submit background checks, etc. and other documents that will cause them RFE's.

The potential for impacting other lives here is great.

USCIS has made a fine job of mucking this up on their own. I'm sure nobody here wants to add to the misery.

I tend to go a little overboard when faced with a challenge or roadblock. It's in my nature. It serves me well in my profession but gets me in trouble in my private life.

Laura, I'm sure you are. I believe what USCIS has done with this is - well - pretty much bad management and - frankly - heartless.

I'm actually hoping that they will issue some interim solution that takes their mishandling of this into account. Some sort of timely solution that allows them to meet the provisions of this law without further punishing petitioners. I'm not certain how this could be done legally, but it's what I'm hoping for. I fear if they don't unclog this pipeline, and soon, the backflow will be staggering.

I'm just not used to "someone else" having so much control over my life. I can choose to buy a ticket and see Luz but powers beond my control prevent me from bringing her back with me. It is SO frustrating!!

But you know what? IN 6 DAYS I WILL BE WITH MY BABY AGAIN IF ONLY FOR TWO WEEKS!!!! That is so good for the soul!!!

I think everyone needs to remember that NOBODY HERE KNOWS what will actually happen as a result of IMBRA.

When people here argue about whether they will do background checks, request records from petitioners, or ask petitioners to fill out a questionnaire, it's kind of pointless AND gives the (mis)impression of actual direct knowledge.

Nobody here should be speaking with any kind of authority on what will be done with our petitions.

Don't get so desperate for answers that you start making up your own.

Sorry to say, but 2 weeks (or 4, or 6) is *nothing* in USCIS world. I know that it's everything to you all, just understand that they don't see "urgency" the same way that you do.
