How are we slowing them down? They aren't processing anything after March 5th. I see Aussie's point but we are by no means slowing them down.

How about ...

To whomever it may concern,

I, USC petitioner name, am hereby submitting my criminal background information, as requisited by the Department of State, in compliance to the International Marriage Broker Regulation Act, for processing of my I-129F petition for my fiance(e), name of foreign fiance(e).

Name of USC

Signature

If you are going to do this, I would use the word "required" instead of "requisited". Your word doesn't show up in any dictionary that I can find. Was it a typo?

I was actually in doubt on that word. You must be aware I´m the foreign fiancee writing, and although I believe that word exists, it may be too rarely used indeed.

would everybody just sit back and relax? burying them in unwarranted paperwork, emails, phone calls, and just b*tch sessions is only slowing down the entire process. let them figure it out and then request what is needed. that way when you send it (if even ever requested), the process is in place to handle it.

Amen. Besides, if they look at it at all, they'd probably just send it back and say they do their own checks and they'll take however long they damn well please.

No offense, but have y'all learned nothing about dealing with USCIS?

You gotta understand what your dealing with here. Picture a warehouse with thousands upon thousands of bins in it. And in each bin are hundreds of folders. Now picture hundreds of letters coming in, each worded differently, formatted differently and none of it requested as of yet. Now picture what they will do with said letters. They will go straight into the dumpster in the back. I know this is VERY stressful for everyone. NO ONE wants it to be over more than me. But sending them stuff without them asking yet will do nothing but tie someone up sorting them out from the stuff they want just so it can be tossed.

Where do you think you are going to get your criminal background info from? The local police station? The FBI? Even if you think you can acces that info, do you think you can get it in a more timely fashion than the government?

If you want to spend your time on some sort of concerted group effort, you would be better off collectively hiring an immigration attorney. As John Q. Public trying to wade through privacy laws, background checks, and the immigration system, you are certain to come up empty handed and even more frustrated than you are now.

Well somebody posted it may be an additional 3-6 months. Well guess what in 11 more days it will have already been 3 months since this law went into effect. We are no more close to knowing what will happen next than we did on March 7th.

I presume you all have seen this post by Ewok regarding this 5/6 USCIS memo.

Put the heat on them through a representative or an organized media effort. Trying to access your criminal records is gonna drive you mad. Especially when criminal background is only a PORTION of the law. Any form or disclaimer that USCIS is working on will contain the language THEY WANT IN IT and will be drafted by THEIR LAWYERS to cover the provisions of the law. I don't see any lawyers on this board and you all are not in a position to try and be one.

I SO FEEL for each and everyone of you! But please don't spin your wheels in the wrong direction. It is like screaming at a stoplight - and will only make your frustration deeper.

You can get your criminal background info even from i-net. I dont know about other states but there is a Wisconsin Court site where you can access any info about the criminal background of an US citizen from WI. It is for a public use. I belive there are also similar sites for the other courts as well. I also think that you can get just a police record like this required for the foreign fiance/fiancee. In my opinion, such an information should not be submitted now, if not requested (for the petitioners already sent their I-129F). Like I read here, it will most possibly not reach your file at all. But maybe those who are going to apply now, should include the criminal background info, it wont hurt.

And forgive me but I see that some members here pay too much attention to the misspelling in the posts. I am also the foreign fiancee and english is not my native language, I am sure I have a lot of misspeled words, but I am happy that I have this level of my english, so I am able to communicate with my US fiance.
