I'm in severe pain (have been since Monday). Finally ggave in and saw the doc. Apparently my body is trying to pass blood clots but they're too big to get past the cervix so the cramping from it is INTENSE and I can't even stand up straight. Doc tried me on anaprox ds first and it didn't even touch the pain. Today I went up for a full exam and he said he hadn't seen a persn my age hemmorage this badly in a long time. We should get the results from the pap in a day or so and until then I have to take 3 birth control pills every day to stop the bleeding (hopefully) and he gave me lorcet to knock the pain bak a bit. It is really bad and I wish I could just feel good again. I ended up takin ga sick day today from work (first time in 15 years that I've left work early due to illness) and will be off until monday.

Has your doctor mentioned a D&C? This might take care of the bleeding. Hope you feel better soon.

I have had some attacks as well. And yes, as DonnaA said they can start in the center. The fact that it is on your right side does indicate Gall Bladder. Does the pain radiate into your back? That is also indicative of gall bladder. It is also possible for it to be either gastritis or ulcers. I am not sure, but could IBS hit you on the right side?

One way or the other you don't want to wait to long to get this checked out. If it is your gall bladder you will want to get to the US ASAP. If a stone gets lodged it could lead to some serious problems.

Yea it sure does go into my back!! horrrrible pains they dont get better by changing positions! I hate that they wake me from a deep sleep usually! I also have trouble taking deep breaths once these pains start!

Jess, I feel as if you explained what I have been going through since 2005...ive had gallbladder problems for years, i am on meds now but eventually i wil have to have it removed(waiting til zaids a bit older) what you explained is exactly how i felt..sharp pains, wakes me at night, into my back, dadada, i had a BAD attack in july and couldnt stand upright for 2 days...its very important you wtach what you eat...i gave up chocolate and coffee, 2 things that really seemed to afect it, i also stopped eating fried foods and anything rich (butter, sour cream, etc)

im pretty sure pregnancy can cause gall bladder problems bc mine seemed to reappear right after i had zaid and thta is what my nurse aunties told me...whatever the case is, i would come home for surgery if u need it removed, youll pay out of ur butt for it in saudi
