Dear Commuity

I am very new to this site and came across it by doing a internet search.

I have been in the US (from the UK) since September 05 - I have just received notification of my biometric interview - can anyone tell me what there experience was like.

Thank you

Firstly, welcome to VJ!!! There are lots of very friendly helpful people here who can answer your questions and offer their suggestions.

The Biometrics appointment is not much more than waiting your turn, then having all your fingers fingerprinted and getting your picture taken. It's really nothing more than that.... straightforward and very painless.

Good luck in your journey.

Welcome to VJ..

Biometrics are normally a piece of cake !! All they do is take prints of all fingers / thumbs, take a picture of you and get you to fill in a form with your height/weight etc..

Most people only have to attend one biometrics appointment to cover both their AOS and EAD applications but some people thanks to the ineficiencies of the USCIS ende up having to attend 2 appointments.

It really is nothing to worry about. make sure you take your appointment letter(s) and some ID.

Best of luck

Mark

P.S When you get the chance fill out your profile and timeline so that everyone can get a better idea of your journey so far and where in the US you are !!

Biometrics is not a test nor an interview. It's a process where they get your physical description (height, weight, color of eyes, color of hair, etc), fingerprints, digital picture and digital signature.

It is painless and usually quick. Don't worry about it. Just bring your I-485 and I-765 NOAs, the appointment letters, photo ID and marriage certificate.

You wait and wait and wait and then they take your finger prints and a picture and away you go. That is what Claudeth experienced with her EAD and AOS biometrics anyway. Good luck

Yeah, that's a good suggestion about the marriage certificate. We went for our Biometrics today and even though it didn't say anything about it on the Appointment Notice, the people at the INS office were very interested in our marriage certificate, which we just happened to have with us.

Thanks so much to everyone who responded. I am so glad that I find this site.

I have 2 biometric interviews one on 1 March and the other on 6th March - can I ring them an ask them to allow me to have 1 interview instead of two. What happens after that? What happens at the next stage - is it the final interview and what do I need to bring - thanks again

When you go to your first biometrics appointment on March 1, bring all your NOAs and the appointment letter for the March 6th appointment. Ask them if they can do both at the same time so you won't have to return for the second appointment.

I just had my biometrics appointment on 10th February for both AOS and EAD. My local office was very quiet so we didn't have to wait. Just filled in the simple form and went into have the prints, picture and signature taken. It was as people have said very painless and quick. Strange tidbit, the prints from my ring finger (yes the one with the wedding ring on) would not take!! They had to try about 6 or 7 times before the computer would accept it. Every other finger was fine first time!! :o
