In reference to an in-depth study of a crack dealing gang in Chicago:

In 2003, Texas put to death 24 inmates - or just 5% of the nearly 500 inmates on its death row during that time. Which means that you stand a greater chance of dying while dealing crack in a Chicago housing project than you do while sitting in death row in Texas.

Perversely - we could get better justice in America by, rather than sentencing our worst offenders to death, sentencing them to serve in a crack dealing gang in Chicago.

We could use ankle monitoring bracelets and non-prosecution agreements with crack gangs to help implement this plan.

In unrelated news:

The typical prostitute earns more than the typical architect.
Maybe rather than encouraging girls to be architects, we should be encouraging them to become prostitutes...and of course, legalize prostitution everywhere. Edited by akdiver

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

I like this comment about supply and demand:

Let's just say that an architect is more likely to hire a prostitute than vice versa.
That's a powerful statement about morality and the useless of making certain lines of business illegal. Edited by akdiver

and that can be taxed.

however, one drawback would be when you tell your wife you're going to go pay your taxes.
