Non-Christians are very likely to cheat. They dont see any consequences to their actions and they believe that if the spouse doesnt know about it, nobody is getting hurt.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

You know, that was my reaction at first too, but now I think it's pretty darn offensive!

And utter BS, on top of it! I had three oh-so-holy couples in my circle of friends that ended up divorcing after one partner cheated, probably right after coming from church. They all kept lying at their partners for YEARS!

Man, I'm stinking mad now... Sorry for the rant, Jasman!

I think MRS.J06 is my new best friend

Religion has sh1tjack to do with fidelity people. Leave god alone. He/She/It does not make people cheat, or prevent certain sects from cheating. For crying out loud.

And I am a non-Christian; and have high regard for my monogamous marriage thank you very much. Be careful what ####### you are spewing. I could also say: "well, Christians are azzholes in this world because they believe the real life comes after you die", which would be equally a load of total cr@p.

He's only talking about his friends and being pretty vague at that, even among his friends I doubt it's really 75%, unless his friends all happen to be polyamorous...

I find the failed marriage/they just wanted a green card threads far scarier than this thread, since this is dealing with people not intent on immigrating (or at least not in the process yet). As far as these true born again christians that don't cheat... I'm sure that is true, heck, I bet that it's actually less than 5%, more like 0% of them cheat... since uh, cheating would pretty much disqualify them as being true born again christians?

As a general rule I get pretty nervous around people who are over zealous about religion, the guilty are the ones who need forgiveness the most, and religion is their shield to justify the things they have done and likely still do. Of course I understand completely when people thank god when they receive a NOA2 here or any other major step on the journey, the alternative to success here is a pretty crushing blow.

Yea, it was a group of expats I know and 15 of 19 couples experienced the filipina cheating on them over the past 2 years. I was kind of shocked thinking that because of the Filipino culture cheating wouldn't be so common

i'm kinda shocked at some of the posts in this thread that are directed at you.

Maybe I just bring that out in people :P

i don't know why - i've never seen you say an unkind word to anyone.

I personally believe that if someone is not a true born again christian, there is at least a 90% chance they will cheat if they are in the relationship long enough. Statistics also show that the divorce rate of born again Christians who attend church every week or read their bible every day is less than 5%. What is the divorce rate of regular people? 60%? 65%? Cant argue with statistics. The family that prays together, stays together.

Non-Christians are very likely to cheat. They dont see any consequences to their actions and they believe that if the spouse doesnt know about it, nobody is getting hurt.

Apparently, this is where the saying "about 72% of statistics are made up" comes from. I notice you didn't cite your source for the divorce rates of "regular people" vs. born-again Christians. Care to share that?

Going to church makes you a Christian about as much as standing in a garage makes you a car. Not everyone needs to cling to a particular religion in order to have morals or know what is right or wrong.

Yeah, us non-religious folk simply don't have a clue about right or wrong - the fear of hell fire and damnation is the only way to stop cheating, stealing and murder so I'm free to do whatever I like. Woohooo!

I have a lot of friends married to Filipinas and so far about 75% of the Filipinas have cheated on their husbands. Is this a normal thing in the Philippines? One friend treated his wife like a queen and she still got a boyfriend on the side and was even renting an apartment for him using my friend's money. I just don't understand this cheating thing. I am going to have long discussions with my wife but wanted to get feedback here on this board too.

There are alot of factors to put into that too. Its no surprise when a 60 year old man marries an 18 year old filipina that she is going to cheat on him.

You are completely full of sh!t and need to STFU.

I would put my morals up against the morals of any Xian I've ever met.

Self-righteous, judgemental pieces of #######. That's 90% of them. If you can pull stats out of your #######, so can I.

How did these morons (posts 106 -111) get into this PI thread? Don't they ever discern how foolish they are and how hollow their feeble minds are? VJ should be a better arena without these phantoms and gangsters.

I would say, if we are saying that majority of one nationality is cheating, this is just being a racist...Racism is completely an ignorant thing .. Every one has capable to cheat no matter what religion, sect, nationality/country you came from..

Can we say majority of the american living overseas cheats on their american wives? Can we say as well that majority of american treated asian woman like a trash..? I would go on but I wont..

Most of my friends has been cheated or has been dumped by their american boyfriends, promised something to them, but they ended up leaving them... And I believe those filipina friends of mine were all decent, educated, and 100% loyal with their man, but were just unlucky to find the good one... We never generalized american as a cheater.. but instead considered them that each individual have their own differences..

One example too is my two american co worker they are both on their late 40's. The other one is I ride with everyday and other one is my lead.. Everyday I keep listening to their stories on how they treated the women like a trash or disposable clothes that they can just dump somewhere after they get what they want... In this case, what can we call to this people?

We can not generalize everyone based on what the other person did.. No matter country you came from has the capability of cheating... There is no reason to cheat when you are married, I believe on this.. If things will not work out, just separate lives..

First of all I don't think religion, or lack thereof, is much of a factor so that's not the reason. Secondly a lot of statistics are being thrown around without anything to back them up (this isn't the political forum lol) so you need to discount them or at least take them with a grain of salt. Anyone who knows anything about statistics knows that they need to be representative of the whole to have any meaning, so saying that two of your friends had Filipino wives who cheated on them (just an example) does not mean that most Filipino women cheat.

Like others have mentioned I think the real reasons are such things as age difference, appearance differences & whether or not the relationship is built on real love. For example if he's 55, overweight and not that attractive and she's 22 & hot and he just wanted a trophy wife then you are asking for trouble. When I went to the Philippines to visit my fiancee I saw a lot of couples that seemed like a mismatch based on age and/or appearance and my guess is that these couples are more likely to have infidelity issues. Do I have statistics to back this up? No I don't, but it's an educated guess.
