FWIW,

My nephew ended up getting screwed over by the Cebu bar girl as some of you here predicted. He is, now, sadder but wiser. :crying:

i do believe i remember that thread.

The phantoms and gangsters strike again .... they're just appending insolence to prejudice ...:devil:

you assume much.

Yup ... my conjectures are always veritable!

I have a lot of friends married to Filipinas and so far about 75% of the Filipinas have cheated on their husbands. Is this a normal thing in the Philippines? One friend treated his wife like a queen and she still got a boyfriend on the side and was even renting an apartment for him using my friend's money. I just don't understand this cheating thing. I am going to have long discussions with my wife but wanted to get feedback here on this board too.

There are alot of factors to put into that too. Its no surprise when a 60 year old man marries an 18 year old filipina that she is going to cheat on him.

I personally believe that if someone is not a true born again christian, there is at least a 90% chance they will cheat if they are in the relationship long enough. Statistics also show that the divorce rate of born again Christians who attend church every week or read their bible every day is less than 5%. What is the divorce rate of regular people? 60%? 65%? Cant argue with statistics. The family that prays together, stays together.

Non-Christians are very likely to cheat. They dont see any consequences to their actions and they believe that if the spouse doesnt know about it, nobody is getting hurt.

im a catholic (a christian per se), but i dont believe and never crossed my mind that being a christian (born again or not), a non-christian, an atheist is the basic to ones characteristic to cheat or not to cheat... thats just not right and irrational in my opinion... sure our faith help us and guide us to do what is right and wrong, to help strengthen our wisdom and beliefs... but i dont think "religion" defines us to cheat or not (statistically?)... just my 2 cents in this thread... its a bit lop sided, illogical and unfair to base ones religion... not unless if we can defend this theory and to where we're gona base this standard... then perhaps i may see the light to it... again i could be wrong too, but this is my stand for now...

peace and God bless to all!!!

Is there any way you can point to evidence that would prove this? I for one (as a happy and faithful atheist) would LOVE to see it. I'm sure my atheist parents (40 years married next June) would also be interested.

Hmmmm, can't think of any prominent born-again Christians that have cheated. Oops, there was Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, Ted Haggard, Earl Paulk...

I also am glad to hear that I don't see any consequences to my actions; I'm off to drink a fifth of gin and eat a whole Sara Lee cake then.

Where did you get the 75%? You did not reveal any source to back up your ratio ... it was just your guess, wasn't it? A guess from a man that might sense some insecurity in his marriage, or a guess from a man whose mind must have been polluted by baseless trashy rumors strewn by ruthless agitators. Needless to say, without a certified scientific poll or survey, your assertion is absolute hearsay.

I abominate you for making a bold statement like this. It smacks of bashing Maria Clara's womanhood and it tends to be a deterrent to ardent Americans to fall in love with Filipinas. What would you think did Linda's groom in New Mexico or Inday's fiance in North Carolina or Rose's husband in Indiana feel when they read your piece? And me, albeit of Filipino ancestry, what would you think I felt?

I must say that you committed an unpardonable wrong by airing such falsehood in this forum, as you scared the daylight out of grooms and grooms to be. Your statement will also unfortunately add fuel to the fiery ridicules that some VJ trolls and gangsters had bestowed on Filipino womanhood, and such trolls and gangsters and their alter egos on a spin-off site will further pursue, with glee, their wicked persuasions to utilize Filipino women as fodder for mockery.:devil::devil:

He's only talking about his friends and being pretty vague at that, even among his friends I doubt it's really 75%, unless his friends all happen to be polyamorous...

I find the failed marriage/they just wanted a green card threads far scarier than this thread, since this is dealing with people not intent on immigrating (or at least not in the process yet). As far as these true born again christians that don't cheat... I'm sure that is true, heck, I bet that it's actually less than 5%, more like 0% of them cheat... since uh, cheating would pretty much disqualify them as being true born again christians?

As a general rule I get pretty nervous around people who are over zealous about religion, the guilty are the ones who need forgiveness the most, and religion is their shield to justify the things they have done and likely still do. Of course I understand completely when people thank god when they receive a NOA2 here or any other major step on the journey, the alternative to success here is a pretty crushing blow.

Yea, it was a group of expats I know and 15 of 19 couples experienced the filipina cheating on them over the past 2 years. I was kind of shocked thinking that because of the Filipino culture cheating wouldn't be so common

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

You know, that was my reaction at first too, but now I think it's pretty darn offensive!

And utter BS, on top of it! I had three oh-so-holy couples in my circle of friends that ended up divorcing after one partner cheated, probably right after coming from church. They all kept lying at their partners for YEARS!

Man, I'm stinking mad now... Sorry for the rant, Jasman!
