Hello Everybody,

Finally i also get to post "visa approved" and it would not have been possible without your generous support and suggestions and good wishes.

The interview was on September 22nd at 1:30 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

First a hiccup. 40 minutes before the interview i found out that i had left my passport and some other documents at a friend's place where i slept over couple of night's ago. So, had to call him and got me the documents within time. I went to the embassay at 1:25pm. Went inside waited for about 10-15 minutes before i could submit my medical report and evidence of ongoing relations ship (photo album, chat logs, emails, mobile text messages) and also the fingerprints. Then waited for about 40 minutes, trying not to panic by looking at those whose visas were denied, until they called my name at window 2. A young girl i think about (22-24) interview me. She interviewed me and i did not feel like it was an interview at all; it was just a friendly chat. Went to the window, she said hi asked me:

1. Is everything that you have said in the forms is correct?

then made me sign part II of ds230

2. where did you meet your wife?

3. Is this your first marriage?

4. what is your wife's major in school?

5. Does she work?

6. Have you been to any other country other than US?

7. were you in the US for your Bachelor's or Master's degree?

8. Did your wife come to Nepal for the wedding?

9. When was the wedding?

10. (in a funny way) are you healthy?

I think thats about it. As she was asking me questions she was writing on the forms (ds 230 and aos). Then apologized to me that it is a lot of paperwork and will take a while. then asked me how long it took us to fill out the forms.

then she gave me a white slip and asked me come back on september 25 @ 2 pm to pick the visa packet and that is tomorrow. Hopefully, i will come outside the embassy unscratched of course with the visa:).

Thank you very very very much to all of you for ur support. Your stories have made me sad, happy, energized and depressed. Hopefully those of you who are waiting for ur interviews will feel better.

I will be flying to US in the first week of November as I have to finish some of the jobs that i have taken.

Thank you once again.

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
