My fiancee and her 6 year old daughter just got their visa's yesterday. It was a long process with a couple of medical delays. I thought that the visa was good for one entry in the next 6 months. She just left me a message saying that hers expires at the end of November and her daughter's expires in January. Due to work, we were planning on January. Anybody know exactly how long the visa is good for? Thanks?

Mike

Not an expert opinion, but it depends on what type of visa they are holding. In my case i am shooting for a K1 or a Fiance visa which should allow me to stay in the US for a fixed term of 3 months or 90 days; and within that period, marriage must take place otherwise the faince will have to go back to her home country. Hope this will help a little - if you are a K1 visa holder....but calling the USEM will really help..could be a case of typo error or something...

u can see that on ur fiance's visa which was attached to her passport- it indicates the validity of the visa. so ur fiance and her daughter must enter/use the visa within the validity period otherwise, visa will be void. if that's the case, u can call the embassy for inquiry about it. BTW, K1 is good for 1 entry only.

my visa was issued on august 15, 2008 and will be expired this coming feb. 11, 2008 (6 months)

hello..

i got my visa last may 14 it's valid until october 23.

if i count from the date of my interview until october 23 it's less than 6 months..

but when i count from the date of my medical exam which is april 23 to october 23 it's exactly 6 months

i'm still here in the manila..will be travelling this october 2 with my 3 months old son.

once i get to the US i will be given 3 months to complete the process and to marry within that period..or else i'll have to leave.

hope this helps..

Either your fiance is mistaken or someone else is in error...

The approved petition is valid for 4 months after it is approved at the USCIS. Because you took so long between NOA2 and interview (Feb-Sept) I imagine your validity date was automatically extended by the Consulate...this is often done when the interview can not be scheduled in time. This is probably the new expiration date that you must have been interviewed by...which you were. Not a validity date to use the visa.

You are correct to assume that a newly issued K1 visa is valid for a one time entry within 6 months from the date of issue.

Better call the Embassy and double check.
