Confused after interview

We went for our AOS interview today.

The officer went through all of our stuff, and seemed to be okay with everything, then he came to the Affidavit of Support, which we'd had to resubmit because of an RFE. Apparently, the National Benefits Center couldn't be troubled to go through this themselves, so he had to do it. He wasn't convinced that our co-sponsor (wife's mother) had enough income, based on her 2007 tax return, to qualify, but luckily she'd included her assets (the house we live in) as backup. This would have been fine, except that the proof that she owns the house and land (the deed) didn't have the address on it, but another piece of paper had both the address and the estimated value of the house, but no proof that she alone owns the house.

The officer went back and forth between these for a while, decided that the property value would be enough to qualify her as co-sponsor, and then moved on to the regular questions (which, bizarrely, included asking me where my wife's sister lives now). I was pretty sure we'd got through it, but he said he had to look over the affidavit of support stuff, and he would write to us if he needed anything else, or if he needed to see us again. Finally, he gave me something about how when I get my green card it'll only be for two years (which I already knew about), and a piece of paper saying 'interview results' on it, on which he'd checked the 'other' box and written 'review' by it.

Am I basically approved and just need to wait a couple of days, or am I likely to run into problems? I'm very confused. He kept saying contradictory things like, he wasn't sure if this was enough evidence for the co-sponsor, and five seconds later he'd say it probably was enough evidence, and at one point he slipped up and said 'when you get your approval notice' instead of 'if'.

Basically I feel like he could have approved me on the day but decided to jerk us around for some reason.

Well, sometimes these I-864 things need to be discussed with the supervisors for their opinions and they might not have been available at that moment.. AOS adjudicators are required to justify their decision.. I learned about it through my experience http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=152745

I think you should wait for a few weeks before inquiring about your case.

Personal prediction is that you will get approved in a week or two.
