hard to believe but after all the wait, we finally have an interview date, (crikey, im shitting my pants!!). one problem, i may need to put the interview off for a week, (not by choice). has anyone ever had to do this, or do they even allow this? in in australia by the way.

Didn't have to do this myself, so I can't say for sure. I'd imagine you could ask for the interview to be rescheduled, but whether it would be for a week or for two months is the real question.

I'd suggest doing everything you can to get there. If it really is going to be impossible, you could email or telephone your consulate and see what they say.

You can do it, but some consulates will view this as suspicious and put a little red flag. I read that sometimes they think that if you have to reschedule it might mean the relationship is not still strong and that you´re having second thoughts.

Never seen a case of denial due to a rescheduled interview, though.

Honestly if youcould do whatever it takes to not reschedule I wouldn't! Like everyone said it can raise red flags and not only that they will choose when it is rescheduled to and that could take weeks!! Sometimes if someone cancels they can get you in earlier but if not it's like you are back on the waiting list like everyone else! Of course this is you decision but my advise is keep it if possible!
