Is this going to cause RFE??

I may have screwed up while filing for DS230. And now that I have some time to reflect on this, I am getting more worried. Orginal Birth certificate that I sent for my wife was laminated with plastic. People in India do this because govt. issued certificates (birth, marriage, etc.) are really printed on fragile paper, which can't sustain lot of wear and tear even after only few days of usage. I didn't bother to send non-laminated birth certificate (coz it's not with me). Is this going to be a problem? Are they going to reject the birth certificate because it's laminated with plastic.?

I don't think so that would be any issue with laminated birth certificate. My cousin sent laminated birth and marriage certificate and did not have any problems.

I sent my marriage certificate and wife's birth certificate, both were laminated and they accepted it without any problem...

I think they are pretty familiar with each regions pecularities by now.

You should be just fine.
