How to get a copy of NOA2?

I won't go into the long explanation here as to how I do not have a copy of our NOA2 approval.....it's too embarrassing! We are fixing to apply for the AOS (once we have that dreaded filing fee together) and I read in the Guides that we will need to include the NOA2 in our packet. Does anyone know an easy way to request a copy of it? Is there a way to email? Or does anyone have a number?

As always, thanks to this brilliant community for all the information you share.

Well.. it is easy to apply (form I-824) but it costs a whopping $340 :help: .

If it were us - we'd consider sending the email/web-notice (from the USCIS web site) and see if we got an RFE - I can't say that'd work and may only delay the inevitable.

For some reason mine didn't arrive in the mail, after calling costumer service several times and them telling me i would have to apply for a copy and pay for it,(where was the one i was supposed to get for free) i forgot the cost. I finally got through to CSC office, my husband spoke to them, they said they didn't have the original anymore so they sent us another paper to say we were approved and that's what we sent in my AOS. The notice is need in the AOS, i didn't get anything until February 08 and i was approves in August 07. Try getting in touch with someone at CSC and not costumer service and see if they would send you something. Please don't tell them you received the original notice or you will have to pay to get a copy. Try the K1forum to see if you can get the ext for the CSC office. Wish you luck.

Thanks for your help. I can't believe it costs so much for one copy of something they shouldn't even need anyway. We couldn't have gotten to the AOS point without being approved. It's insanity. The embassy people took all my husband's originals and his copies and told him that he wouldn't need them again. SIGH. They even have my birth certificate as I sent him my original. What a pain.....I still have the email confirmation, so i may just send that on as we don't have the extra cash right now. It will be risky....

I seriously doubt it that you are going to have a problem or RFE because of it. All they look for is the receipt number on top of the approval notice and on the email that is present. Its not worth $340..

Actually we filed for AOS but was missing the actual NOA2 letter also, but we got through it and was processed with no RFEs. We did however include the email confirmation that we received from USCIS about the NOA2 being approved before and that's what we included in the packet for AOS. I think that's what they needed. My husband said that it only needed proof that the petition was approved. At first we said that if we received RFEs for it, then we would be ordering the copy of NOA2, meaning pay the $340... we took the risk and good thing it went through so we didn't have to pay it.
