Hi Everyone,

I know I should be able to find this.. but I can't Where to get an AR-11..where do I send it..I suppose I need one for myself and 1 for my daughter(or maybe 1 will do..i dunno..lol) and how quickly do I need to submit it?

Sorry for the 3-part question..I'm moving and stressed!

Download AR-11

Yes you will need one for both of you.

"This card is to be used by all aliens to report a change of address within ten days of such change."

The address to mail it to is at the bottom of the form.

Thanks you two..you're the best.. I guess I have to mail it in..the on-line form won't do it..or maybe it will..(I swear if I ever move again I'm hiring packers) my brain feels like mush and I can't even absorb the instructions!)

Glad you asked the question Shawna - we're closing on our house today and moving over the next 3 weeks too!!!! I would like movers, but me thinks I am stuck moving boxes again for the 2nd time in 10 months

For the online version - I can or can not do both (1 for self and 1 for daughter) ? Obviously it would be most convenient, but I assume either way I'm going to have to call and check to ensure they've made the update regardless? Or do they send a notice that they've received it?

Udella!! its been a long time! I hear ya..lol..This is my second move in 9 months haha..I'm really excited..Its just the packing..ughh...my understanding of the instructions is..I have to mail in mine..and then do the on-line for my daughter? Well....long story short on the daughter topic-> We (the royal 'we' ) passed 1 grade 10 class, so we're kind of repeating a few, but she can still graduate on time thankfully. Thus far, this year is going ok...don't want to jinx it.

She has many friends here, likes school, but unfortunately is so stubborn about wanting to return to Canada,..we didn't get much of a vacation chance to get home this summer. She is having a rough time getting over blaming everyone for how badly things have gone. It's been a little painful for all of us.

Think I'll do the same, kill them with online and hardcopy reminders...shall we take bets on teh fact that they'll still miss it?

Well my daughter(the queen of sheeba ) did really well in her classes last year(she said it was only because she had nothing better to do..no social life..blah blah..lol) She went home to visit her dad for the summer..and of course you know how well that went..she has decided to stay and do this semester in toronto...sigh) there wasn't much I could do being she had that choice..its all good though..she comes here once a month..and I'm there every 6 weeks..so for now I see her every couple of weeks. Shes 16 and knows everything..

if you do the online AR-11 you are given a confirmation #..

I wouldn't bother sending in the paper AR-11...

So what does that do to her Adjustment/ perm GC? Somedays i wish I could send my daughter back to live with a family member (just not in the cards. parents too old, Uncles too busy with own families). If I figured out how to let her go back, I assume that invalidates the whole process for her and then complicates things further if she wanted to return to visit (you know how the border guys are.....

My daughter has a serious case of the 'Grass is always greener... syndrome' and really does believe that she would do 'Really well' if I would just 'let' her go back. Don't know what to tell her.

And DUH - of course she knows everything!!!! If it weren't for the eye rolling, exasperated sighs, looks that could kill/maim/ wither...i might actually get along with her. Was I this bad?...In a word...YES

Yes, thanks for mentioning that Len - about doing the form online - I was thinking of the I-865 for the sponsor, the one that has to be mailed in

Anyway, we did the online form for my Husband, a couple of days later he went to apply for his SSN and they already had the new address on file.
