So I have just booked my medical for Friday 26th September, and I have read a few dozen times here that a vaccination record must be brought in to the appointment or at least faxed in/sent in etc. I've just been told by the not so happy receptionist at Knightsbridge docs that a vaccination record isn't needed as it is 'not a holiday that I am going on' and that it is for the purpose of a non immigrant visa. Shall I bring my vacc record with me just incase? It is for the AOS stage so I would be right to get it done with my GP prior, right? I think the receptionist is wrong or she has a lack of info regarding that.

If anyone here can verify the above to be correct or incorrect either way I would be grateful.

Thank you kind peeps,

Dora

The receptionist is right in that vaccs are not needed at the K1 stage. However, they are needed for AOS and it's easier to get them done in the UK and have the doctor at the medical note it on the DS-3025.

The receptionist will not have any knowledge of the AOS procedure which is probably why she said what she did.

Firstly, I know EXACTLY who you mean when you refer to the, "not so happy receptionist" in your post. She really is the most obnoxious, miserable cow on God's green Earth, and needs a severe kick up the ####### (which is a shame, because she's actually quite fit! )

And to answer your question, like EM said, you don't actually need the vaccinations to get the K1, but if you can show you've had them, then it certainly won't hurt to bring them along to the medical.

Good luck.

Wow, I am so glad I'm not the only one who met Miss Dour faced receptionist!.

I would take them, purely because they fill out that other form DS-3025 (thanks English muffin, forgot what that was lol ) using your vaccination records, the first lady also asked if I had chickenpox before and noted that I didnt need the Varicella on that form.Woohoo!

Congrats on the medical, you are almost done with the K1 journey!

We had to stop and ask a man where the place was, he pointed to the building right behind us and we said thanks and all that jazz and he said alot of people ask for directions to there.

It doesn't look like a doctors!, has gold all over the door though.

We used map B and walked way out of our way. I think it was due to the fact that we knew that we needed to get there and i was stressed. You should be alright. Good luck

I said she was quite fit, Dora. But her po-faced nature quickly negates any arousing thoughts, trust me! And oh yeah, God help you if you arrive too early - especially if she's having her lunch break. I had the audacity to turn up at 12 for my 1pm appointment, (thinking, not unreasonably, that I'd be able to just sit quitely and read for an hour or so in the waiting room) and got the ###### hairdryer treatment through the intercom system!

Mardy ###### mare!
