Once you've submitted your I-485 for adjustment of status I wouldn't recommend withdrawing it and trying to re-submitt later just so you can ensure a 10 year green card.

If your 2nd anniversary is in January, there is a chance your interview will be after that and you'll get the 10 year card anyhow.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

No you can't, you already submitted the I-485 already and can't withdraw it just to submit it again so you can receive a 10 year green card once it's approved.

Since you applied two months ago, there's a possibility that they may approve it before January. If this happens, you will receive a conditional green card good for 2 years. Two years later you have to file to Remove Conditions so you can get your 10 year green card.

If they approve your AOS after January, you should get your 10 year card.

As of right now all you have to do is wait to see what happens.
