Hi guys!!!

This is related to my previous post about the NOA1. My fiancee mailed the K1 packet from Oregon to California service center last September 2, 2008. He registered the mail. Im juz wondrin if it will really take long to get the NOA1 if its registered. Then my fiancee received the RETURN SLIP from the Postal Office that the packet already received. So my fiancee only got the confirmation from the postal office now and he dont get any notice yet from the service center.

Any one here can advice me? I told my fiancee to verify and ask. But he juz told me to relax and he will receive the NOA1 soon. But its uncertain for me bcoz i read some post here that u can get NOA1 normally after 2 to 7 days. Its already 3 weeks now and we dont get any update yet.

Is there anyone here same with our case that send their packet by registry mail? Please i need some replies to enlighten me. I will appreciate also advices...

Thanks in advance.....

As pay suggested above you need to find out if they cashed your check. If so, then they have it and you need not worry. On the back just under the signature line usually, you will see a WAC085XXXXXXX number. Register that number on the USCIS.gov website and you can track it from there. Hopefully he'll get the NOA1 hardcopy (I-797) but if not, it's not a big deal to have the "1" hardcopy. You will definitely need the NOA2 (also called I-797) for AOS.

Since you have confirmed delivery, I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet. VSC seems to be sending them sporadically as of late. Just check to see if they've cashed the check. You can also call uscis and try to talk to someone to find out.

good luck.

welcome to the wait. ;)

Thanks guys for the quick replies. But he said its noy yet cleared from his bank. Only he received the confirmation slip from the Postal office that its already received. But it took so long. My fiancee mailed the K1 Packet last sept. 2 and receive the Postal confirmation notice last Sept. 20.

Anyway i hope we can get the NOA1 soon. cant really wait.

I'd give it another week perhaps and then call. Not too long ago it was quite common for VSC to be taking it's time cashing checks and issuing NOA1's so this could very well be the case with CSC now. Look in the September filers thread for CSC (if there is one) to see if that's what's happening now.

It's a little early to freak out but keep in mind that there have been cases here where people have confirmed delivery but VSC lost it. If this is the case, they are suppose to honor the first sent date (lots of ppl dont know that but it's listed on the uscis expedite criteria) so... if you need to send it again... be sure you include a copy of the confirmation of delivery, note this on the petition and request an expedite for USCIS error. ;)

good luck

Hello awesomepinay,

I also sent our K-1 packet registered mail on 9/16/08. No return slip from post office and no NOA1 yet, but my check did clear the bank on 9/22/08. I guess sending the packet registered mail does slow things up a lot.

Hi, its normal! We had that situation before when my fiance sent our package, it was sent July 1, via UPS - Michigan to - CSC, they received it July 8 after the holiday, my fiance got acknowledgment receipt only from one of the staff of CSC. It took us 2 weeks before we had our NOA1 hard copy after they received it. Your packet is fine, just wait until the SERVICE CENTER cash out the check and after that you will definitely have your NOA1... Registered mail is fine! its for security purposes and for you to track your package......At least now you have the acknowledgment receipt , it means that your package is in good hands.Just wait until they open it....Good luck and God bless!!!

We didnt recieve ours for several weeks, we have an attourney and she chased it up on our behalf,

the had actually sent out the noa1 about 10 days after application was submitted but we never recieved it.

She was able to then provide us with our tracking number so we can track our application online.

OOOh that website is doing my head in, i check it 3-4 times a day cant leave it alone seems like patience is not one of my strong points lol

Good luck
