Its very expensive, couple anywhere from $400-1500+ a month.

I would not advise anyone to immigrate here as a senior, the family can go broke just paying medical bills.

As an Immigrant, it would be a State issue. Contact those companies operating in your State.

As a visitor, best to buy Travel Insurance which they should be able to get locally.

What my family members have done is make sure they get all their medical stuff done before they travel. then when they go back they get checked up again before they come back. The issue would be in case of an emergency, like a heart attack, a car accident, etc. That's what would keep me up at night.

thanks everyone

i checked with Medicare and they do offer insurance for legal permanent residents but at a hefty price of $519 per person. Its a deal breaker considering the steep cost and the not so clear coverage details. its kinda disheartening considering the steep costs of Healthcare compared to Canada or UK. well anyways its totally different topic, will explore some travel insurance deal to tide for the interim.

thanks everyone

The interim is until they can buy Medicare.

I agree. The US is the worst place to be when it comes to health insurance. Even for most people covered.

Good luck!
