I am currently 4 months pregnant and am the US citizen who filed a K-1 for my fiance which is dated by the California Service Center on July, 31 2008 when we received the NOA1. According to the numbers on the timeline section of this site we will be expecting to finish the visa process at the same time of the birth.

I had planned and hoped for expedite processing but other forums have indicated this is not an option. I wonder if anyone knows if a compounded situation would make a difference. The thing is we are together in his home country now, I am at his home in Namibia and getting consecutive visitors visas should not be a problem. I also question if this has an effect on getting the visa if I plan to stay here jobless and have a co-sponsor? While I am here all the paperwork is being intercepted by my mother back home?

Anyway back to the original situation. We are both finding it impossible to work because there are no jobs available and for me its not legal to work as a visitor. It would make a world of difference to spend the last months of pregnancy with my family and working so we can save a little before the baby arrives. I cannot stand the idea of being apart during the pregnancy.

Is there such thing as economic reasons for expedite processing would that fall under humanitarian reasons or something? Any advice would be helpful. This process gets so complicated and I really appreciate finding this website it seems like a really supportive and wonderful community I am happy to join.

good luck all!!

First of all, Congratulations on your pregnancy, unfortunately, this is no reason for them to expedite the visa. I know, it s*cks!! I can understand how you feel. I am 13 weeks preggy and got to know only 3 days after Daniel had left for his deployment. So he wasn't even here to share that. He will be back after the baby is 4-5 months old, he might get 2 weeks emergency leave if its a complicated enough pregnancy/delivery. Try to think cheerful thoughts and keep the daddy involved in your pregnancy so he doesn't feel left out. Talk to him about how you feel, send him pictures of your growing tummy, ultrasounds etc. Remember soon you will be together, hopefully before the baby is born...

All the best!!

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Right now you are at a hard point in your life. But the most important thing is the child you are carrying. I know some countries don't have the same level of medical care as others. Have you given thought to which location is the best to give birth ? I know you would love to spend all your life with your man but there are times when things do go as we wanted. It has been over a year since I have been with Joseph and that is not how we planned things. I know if I were pregnant I would be in the US as I had troubles with birth before. You have to weigh the good and the bad. At least if you come back here you know you will have family to help you. Whatever you decide .. best of luck
