So this has been an interesting month.

Having dived into Naomi's messages and then her talk at the library and then going to check out The Freedom Museum in Chicago, and then the reading from authors who's books are either banned or on a hit list to be banned.

YES books get banned in the U.S.!!!

The museum was not what I thought...I thought it would be a rah rah look at us the U.S. how great we are...blah blah.

It was a floor of stuff to read, short videos, and ways to test your knowledge of human rights (all kinds of rights...women, blacks, immigrants, disabled, workers, etc).

Lots about free speech and history of the constituion, the bill of rights and the declaration of independence.

For a Cannuckian to sink into the depth of what the founders had envisioned and the mess we are in today (globally), I was overwhelmed.

I have enjoyed learning all this "new" stuff.

It was like going to school...I seem to do that every day with my ongoing research of whatever catches my attention.

The reading from the authors, was truly remarkable.

I cried when these two (recently married) gay men read from their banned book called, And Tango Makes Three about penguins....and it is a true story! It was soooooo sweet.

All this and re-watching the movie The Corporation has me in quite the mental state.
