What happens if a VP gets pregnant? Just curious, but has the system provision for such an eventuality? Call me whatever names you like, but my question is purely from the point of view of curiosity not scoring political points.

what happens if mccain dies and she gets preggo again?

I love republican humor. Experience of what? Skinning moose? Gazing at Russia? Flying to DC to beg for pork?

 Gazing at Russia.

Have a good laugh now but your fellow Americans resent Hollywood "celebs" asserting their opinion via the media given the average "Joe" doesn't have the same privilege.....

Matt Damon is certainly entitled to his opinion as an ordinary citizen, rightly discounting his celebrity and wealth, as we all do. However, he's using his celebrity to impose his opinion on many as he has the advantage over, say you and me, inn terms of audience.....

When I speak, nobody listens outside my ability to project my voice, or here on the internet to a limited audience. When you speak your mind as an ordinary yokel, you have the same audience.....

When Matt, Barbara Streisand, Oprah, cast of the “View”, Jane Fonda, Letterman, and others state a preference they abuse their celebrity status as that's not why we, their audience, bestowed the celebrity they enjoy. We like them as entertainers, not as politicians.

When they speak about politics they usurp the ordinary fellows opinion, unfairly so. The ordinary person doesn’t have the breadth of coverage that the celebrity does, even though theoretically they should have the same leverage on opinion.

Curiously, only Holly types such as feel compelled to shoot their mouth off as you rarely see others that enjoy celebrity such as Baseball players, Football Players, Golfers, NASCAR racers, etc. There are exceptions but generally speaking this is the rule.

Those in Hollywood do not posses any superior knowledge and insight into politics beyond you and I but are unfairly given a mechanism to assert their opinion on anyone that might be susceptible to influence from them.....

Fortunately most Americans recognize this and oftentimes, as proven in the past, reject these opinions, and even vote in defiance of these liberals.

Good for them!

i'm not saying you should agree with what he says, but don't you think that it is a part of trying to get young people interested and invovled in politics? afterall they are the people who tend to care about celebrities the most and think politicians are old and don't relate to them or their lives.

Just a couple of names...

Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sonny Bonno, all republicans btw

"Entertainment figures speaking about politics should be regarded as just what they are - entertainers"

Couldn't agree more ;) thanks for bringing us Schwarzenegger

All three of whom 'retired' from Hollywood before they became politicians.

Oh Oh Oh

I GET IT! The fact that they retired gives them more credibility! man I was wrong all this time! Schwarzenegger is not longer an entertainer who got high on weed and steroids in his youth but a smart guy since he became governor! just look at CA's 18-billion deficit right now, he is doing a great job that governator riiiiiiiiiiight...

Assuming she takes time off from the job. Unlike the presidency, I don't think there is any legal requirement that the office be filled. If there is, then i would assume that it falls to the line of succession, which puts the Speaker of the House into that spot.

Kaydee somehow I think that if this was a story about a celebrity supporting the Republican party you would be singing a much different tune. Like it or not celebrities have the same right as everyone else to voice their opinions & if you don't agree with them then vote for the other guy. I am so sick & tired of selective Republican outrage... there are two sides to almost every story.

Yep, seen this a few times...Another Hollywood liberal dunce that thinks he's helping his candidate by denigrating Palin, a person with arguably more experience than his own democratic choice, "the one".....

It's Hollywood cronies like him that sway undecideds to vote for, nort against McCain.

Didn't they learn from their foray into the Kerry election?

Not even arguably. Sarah Palin's experience doesn't come close to Obama's, or Biden's for that matter. Get over it.

As some of the view points here have stated:

just because an actor or singer makes a statement about something and lots of people see it because they have presence, does not make them not credible.

(so many negatives, hahaha)

If I were more "famous" perhaps more people would hear my messages.

Alas, I am only infamous...hee, hee.

My issue with celebrities (regardless of their leanings) voicing their political opinions is that they're essentially abusing their power to project their opinions on the populace, hoping that somehow their status as a movie star and/or musician will somehow make them a genuinely credible source of information. Perhaps some of them really do know a thing or two about politics, but most are merely spouting off inflammatory garbage, without a hint of logic or any facts whatsoever to back up their claims.

But then again, why would they need to prove anything they say? As celebrities, they are, by default, above the "common man" and therefore, they have free reign to speak on anything they so desire. The truly horrific thing about about that setup is that the majority of this country -- and even the world -- is dumb enough to believe it and them. Matt Damon may be a moderately good actor and if someone needed advice on shooting films or how to "break into Hollywood," perhaps he'd be a great source. On important political issues, however, he's way out of his league and as such, he should have the good sense to keep his trap shut when his comments will be broadcast to millions upon millions across the globe.

One final word: Some individuals might say that celebrities have just as much right to their opinions as you or I. This is absolutely true. However, I lack the same nationwide (and at times, worldwide) stage that many celebrities do. My comments, regardless of how intelligent or moronic they may be, will only visit a select few. This is hardly true for someone like Matt Damon.

Yes, DeadPool most of that is what is.

And I saw a biography (a while ago) on how two friends, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, left their homes to go to NY and then LA to get their idea (script) read and made into a movie.

They were quite "brilliant" and displayed great entrepreneurial spirit!

Does than make Matt's or any star's opinion more important than mine or yours?

Nope.

I just happen to agree with him.
