Recent Interview in Caracas for IR1

Can anyone tell me what "administative process" means?

My husband had his interview in Caracas for our Ir1 visa on 09.18.08. The interview went well. He had all the necessary paperwork and the questions he was asked were very simple (Where did you meet?, Had he met my family?...). However, at the end of the interview, he was given a white slip with a 221 g for "administrative process" and was told to e-mail the the Embassy in one week for the status. The interviewer told him this was just a formality since he had previously been in the US on a A1/A2 Diplomatic Visa. Has anyone experienced this? Maybe this is due to the recent issues between Venezuela and the US?

Any comment or thoughts would be appreciated

There was a member whose fiancée had to go through this in Colombia and were told the same thing. Everything went well at the interview except the Administrative Review. They waited a month until they started calling everybody including the Department of State. Then they were told to make another appointment at the embassy and when her fiancée got there the embassy people did not know what they were there for and were going to put him on AR again. I guess he got really upset and then was told by the CO that he would receive his visa in the mail, which he did.

The key here is to be on them at all times. If they asked you to contact them in a week, do so. If they don't still contact them until someone gets back to you.
